Tricolor 0 - 8 Chorro (186824576)

A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 26873 to Arena Caldeirão do Imortal Tricolor. Lee Ojeda was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Walter Neidhardt and Géza Bohus. A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Tricolor. The following players took the field: Juaçaba - Ferrara, Bárbaro, Jamnik - Espíndola, Uyanık, Sógor, Garcés - Bandeira, Valença, Pizarro.

Chorro decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players had been chosen: Minetto - Sarid, Saharof, Hofbauer - Cataldo, Bruliński, Mulder, Giralte, Soikka - Obren, Svendsen.

Tricolor immediately set off using their skill at pressing their opponents. Chorro took the lead 19 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle. O. Cataldo was the scorer. After 28 minutes Tricolor's E. Uyanık had to be carried off on a stretcher in agony. P. Camariñas came in to replace him. Tricolor's ability to press all over the field frequently paid dividends. After 36 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave O. Cataldo a chance to increase the lead for Chorro, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 2. After 39 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave T. Mulder a chance to increase the lead for Chorro, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 3. Confident in their lead, Chorro's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. It was 0 - 3 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to Chorro, who controlled the ball 70 percent of the time.

With 52 minutes played, Chorro put themselves up 0 - 4 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was T. Mulder. The heat made it a terrible day for A. Bruliński, who seemed unable to keep up with the other players. After 59 minutes, Chorro's T. Svendsen burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 5. A drive down the left side allowed E. Giralte to get in close and score another goal for Chorro after 60 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 6. T. Mulder of Chorro received a yellow card after 69 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Some fine movement on the left led to a Chorro goal after 72 minutes, making it 0 - 7. T. Svendsen was noted down as the scorer. T. Mulder increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 8. At that, T. Mulder was noted down for a hat trick! 74 minutes in, Tricolor's P. Camariñas received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Chorro, with 73 percent of the ball.

Tricolor's best player was O. Jamnik. P. Camariñas was a disappointment, however. Chorro's top performer was clearly I. Sarid. M. Minetto on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 8.
