Clear skies welcomed the 28005 spectators who had made their way to Arena xutos & Pontapés. R. Flora had a good try after 5 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide. With 25 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience, T. Ladeira needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. Lusitano's F. Bettray managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 38 minutes. 0 - 1. The referee showed Lusitano's R. Kolarov the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. L. Orr's knee will be throbbing for days, but thankfully for xutosepontapes, he bravely continued in the match. The home crowd was not impressed when F. Bettray came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 42 minutes. Lusitano were now up 0 - 2. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Lusitano lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. After 45 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for F. Bettray who increased Lusitano's lead to 0 - 3. This third goal completed a hattrick for F. Bettray. When R. Kolarov made yet another studs-first tackle after 45 minutes, the referee was obliged to book the Lusitano player for the second time, sending him off the pitch. F. Borisov was handed the Lusitano captain's armband. Halftime score was 0 - 3. Lusitano claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 60 percent.

After 47 minutes, Lusitano sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached F. Bettray, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 0 - 4. F. Bettray came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over M. Poggi but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Lusitano, with 63 percent of the ball.

xutosepontapes's top performer was clearly J. Maleček. A. Velasques turned in a dismal performance, however. Lusitano's top performer was clearly E. Vahter. T. Ladeira on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 4.
