superoset 0 - 6 Immortal
(245574112)

13-09-2009 11.30
Clear skies welcomed the 15044 spectators who had made their way to
Ostaf Arena.
Antonio Chirico was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Pedro Barros and
David Lejón.
superoset had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
They fielded: Pabich - Kołaczyński, Kuik, Pawelczyk, Trajdos - Łukasiewicz, Banasik, Seruga, Świerk - Ciszkiewicz, Klapczyński.
Immortal started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Levy - Gawełek, Buchner, Canedo, Meissner - Mant, Pachucki, Vía, Kakiet - Gabriel, Barrett.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
C. Mant from Immortal a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 6 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
The most controversial moment of the game was likely the penalty given after 8 minutes. Immortal's
Á. Vía kept his concentration, despite the upset crowd, and calmly put the ball past the keeper to make the score 0 - 1.
With 9 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
J. Canedo of Immortal to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 2.
superoset's
W. Pawelczyk left the field after 21 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
W. Niesobski.
After 22 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
K. Gabriel who increased Immortal's lead to 0 - 3.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
P. Ciszkiewicz got himself booked. The manager of superoset was not happy.
After 34 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
K. Gabriel a chance to increase the lead for Immortal, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 4.
0 - 4 was the halftime score.
Immortal claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 68 percent.
The visitors added to their lead 50 minutes into the game, after a sensational penalty kick by Immortal's
Á. Vía slid just past the home keeper. 0 - 5.
After this, you could see that the players of Immortal were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
Unsportsmanlike behaviour by
C. Mant rendered him his second booking of the match, and Immortal had to finish the game with a reduced squad.
The visitors'
J. Canedo took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 70 minutes into the match. 0 - 6 for Immortal.
With the scoreboard showing that 77 minutes had been played, Immortal nearly put themselves up another goal after
I. Pachucki came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save.
Against a lesser team, Immortal could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 84 minutes. A trio of passes took the ball all the way past the defenders, but by then the intended recipient was already blocked off and the keeper could make a leisurely save.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Immortal, with 68 percent of the ball.
superoset's best player was
P. Ciszkiewicz.
W. Niesobski was a disappointment, however.
The most dominating Immortal player was without a doubt
B. Buchner.
However,
M. Levy made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 0 - 6.
