Hetesy 6 - 0 Hafc (248008587)

19300 fans braved the pouring rain at Calow Green. Tasesa Palea'aesina was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Henri Clemens Abboud and Gabriel Milheiro. Hetesy had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Cio - Marín, Csibor, Asaad - O'Connor, Tori, Pettersson, Padrón, Mejer Larsen - Lewis, Rivaben.

A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Hafc. The following players took the field: Maslin - MacKnie, Zillmer, Pizzala, Martin - MacCalme, MacLullich, Silk, Dupre - Bent, Davies.

G. Rivaben had a hard time on the waterlogged pitch - his trademark technique was nowhere in sight today. Given a free kick in a difficult position after 6 minutes, Hetesy tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. S. Asaad was having a great game - if anything the pouring rain seemed to be spurring him on! Hetesy took the lead 23 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as R. Marín elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. After 39 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and J. O'Connor gave the Hetesy supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 2 - 0. After this, you could see that the players of Hetesy were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. G. Rivaben increased the lead for Hetesy to 3 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! 3 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Hetesy, with 81 percent of the ball.

After 48 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by R. Marín might have resulted in another goal for Hetesy. However, C. Maslin made a spectacular save. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Hetesy to 4 - 0 as G. Rivaben finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. With 65 minutes played, Hetesy put themselves up 5 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to D. Lewis, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. Hetesy increased the lead as G. Rivaben struck to make the score 6 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. At that, G. Rivaben was noted down for a hat trick! Hetesy had most of the ball, with 82 percent of possession.

M. Tori performed admirably for Hetesy. N. Mejer Larsen was a disappointment, however. Hafc's top performer was clearly R. MacCalme. On the other hand, L. Pizzala's play was disheartening. The match ends 6 - 0.
