Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and
U2 saw a crowd turnout of 23043.
Väino Miilvee was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Gabriel Bonini and
Mats Nesslind.
Tellerías decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
They fielded: Garza - Matos, Smajdor, van Laarhoven - Agramunt, Páramo, Corrochano, Romojaro, Kőtörő - Strauss, Alvarez.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Taladrador.
The following players had been chosen: Ahamdanech - Zettermar, Blokhuis, Trindade - Prats, Puig, Lewström, Pérez, Granell - Duncan, Claesson.
Taladrador clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle.
A mistake by the home side's central defence after 5 minutes allowed
J. Granell to score for Taladrador. The scoreboard now read 0 - 1.
After a scuffle in the guests' penalty area 19 minutes into the game, the home team was awarded a penalty.
M. Alvarez scored to make it 1 - 1.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
F. Strauss, but the Tellerías player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 2 - 1!
M. Alvarez increased Tellerías's lead to 3 - 1 with a penalty spot cannonball.
Tellerías solidified their lead at the 41 minute mark, as
V. Kőtörő dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 1.
4 - 1 was the score after the first half.
Tellerías had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.
A bit later, Taladrador's
Á. Pérez easily reduced the lead to 4 - 2 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence.
Some things can only be learned through experience, and
M. Smajdor should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting Taladrador a goal with 59 minutes of the match played.
Tellerías put themselves up 5 - 2 when
M. Alvarez broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
That made three goals for
M. Alvarez and he was marked down for the hat trick.
Tellerías's
M. Alvarez swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball.
The home team's fans were not happy with the visitors'
K. Claesson's great free kick that resulted in Taladrador reducing the score to 5 - 3.
Cheers filled the stadium as
M. Alvarez broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 6 - 3 to Tellerías.
Confident in their lead, Tellerías's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
Possession in this half belonged to Tellerías, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.
F. Strauss performed admirably for Tellerías.
T. van Laarhoven was a disappointment, however.
Most important Taladrador player was
