Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Stadio Campocologno saw a crowd turnout of 26997. Rico van Nimwegen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Marek Roszczak and Olivier Medic. Vonrüti's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled out as his shot went just over the bar after 18 minutes. 19 minutes in, Niederdorf's L. Joeira received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Many thought M. Rousselot ought to have been awarded a penalty 20 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around H. Zapién after a determined run through the middle. Niederdorf's N. Fronske gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 25 minutes with a superb strike from the right. J. Eskeland left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 30 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. S. Dayan was the replacement. 0 - 1 was the score after the first half. Niederdorf had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.

A handball in the penalty area gave the home team a penalty 54 minutes into the match, and A. Vonrüti was able to score, taking the scoreline to 1 - 1. After 60 minutes, the Niederdorf coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving D. Arume off the field. T. Kovač took his place. Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 60 minutes into the match, and L. Joeira wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 1 - 2 for the visitors. One of many good crosses from S. Dayan on the wing was received and skillfully taken care of by N. Rødkjær, who scored for Niederdorf. 1 - 3 N. Rødkjær received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 81 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 4. The Niederdorf fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. The players of Niederdorf now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. 83 minutes into the game, Niederdorf were awarded a penalty and N. Fronske was able to increase the visitors' lead to 1 - 5 rolling the ball in by the right post. With 85 minutes played, the Campo coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. G. Bettella came on, R. Zindel had to leave the fray. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Niederdorf, with 61 percent of the ball.

The most dominating Campo player was without a doubt J. Widor. P. Tonolla was a disappointment, however. T. Kovač performed admirably for Niederdorf. E. Ruth turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 5.
