Dark skies made the crowd of 44000 at
Snaiperio Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Grégoire Pépé was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Jeanloup Stammbach and
Terje Nøren.
Snaiperis decided to use a 3-4-3 set up.
The following players took the field: Gobys - Madariaga, Thorstensson, Miler - Ibn-Faisal, Zvycevičius, Berta, Lőw - Bakutis, van Baalen, Marques.
Liverpoolis tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.

The referee signaled a penalty for the home side after 22 minutes, amid vocal protests from the visitors. Snaiperis fans erupted in celebration as
S. Lőw rifled the ball into the the top corner. 1 - 0!
B. van Baalen of Snaiperis was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
27 minutes into the match, Liverpoolis's
M. Liškevičius demonstrated his famed speed as he raced past his marker and passed the ball to
G. Sas who chipped it in for 1 - 1.
The guests almost went up by a goal after 28 minutes when
G. Sas came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though.
The crowd gasped as
S. Lőw of Snaiperis was flattened by an opponent after 31 minutes and had to be carried off.
V. Klustaitis came in off the bench.
Snaiperis were very close to putting themselves one up after 36 minutes as
T. Bakutis got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide.
Liverpoolis's
A. Rafinbergas could have put the guests one up after 38 minutes after chasing a through ball from the right, but
B. Gobys was as fast as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose.
1 - 1 was the halftime score.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Liverpoolis, with 61 percent of the ball.
This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when
L. Krutas slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against
B. Gobys, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
V. Klustaitis from Snaiperis a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 59 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
G. Sas had a good opportunity to give Liverpoolis the lead as he charged down the right and struck the ball towards the top corner, but the home team's goalkeeper made the save.
Liverpoolis took the lead after 70 minutes making the score 1 - 2.
L. Krutas placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left.
Liverpoolis enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.
Snaiperis's best player was
