previous 5/7 next 7/7  Canary 4 - 1 SoulFire (251357077)

49000 spectators had come to MORDOR CASTLE this cloudy day. Erik Sandskog was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Manuel Riedler and Kapitonas Škėrys. Canary tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Alzina - Shundovski, Sigrist, Lambaša - Jurcã, Harlow, Kasztel, Tallone, Schawinski - Gleijm, Abundia.

SoulFire had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Burland - Guimera, Keskimaula, Ballestero - Dzambazovski, Ognenovski, Vidinovski, Rodríguez, Juka - Simojoki, Birgersson.

It wasn't a pretty goal, but the free kick by Ð. Lambaša after 4 minutes somehow found its way past the keeper. Canary takes the lead, 1 - 0! Canary's F. Sigrist saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 18 minutes. After 26 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and P. Gleijm gave the Canary supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 2 - 0. After 31 minutes, M. Birgersson sent the corner kick right to M. Guimera who headed it sharply past the keeper. 2 - 1! A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Canary's J. Kasztel increasing the lead to 3 - 1. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Canary lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. The home side's F. Sigrist came close to extending the lead 38 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but F. Burland managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. Halftime score was 3 - 1. Canary enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 64 percent of possession.

SoulFire's M. Guimera was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 48 minutes. Canary were given a gift! The ref dubiously awarded them a penalty 70 minutes into the match, which was neatly put away by Ð. Lambaša. 4 - 1 for the home side. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Canary, with 65 percent of the ball.

Most important Canary player was I. Jurcã. However, B. Shundovski made a disastrous appearance. SoulFire's top performer was clearly J. Simojoki. T. Juka on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 4 - 1.
