Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 12361 to Capu Ciairului. Håkan Hyell was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Yotam Banay and Ricardo Baptista. People from all over Bucureşti had joined up for the derby. Paltenu tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. Today, Paltenu's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks. st3aua seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. G. Gheorghe's early cross saw the defenders caught out of position and the alert E. Codrut was able to pounce and roll the ball past the hapless goalkeeper to score for st3aua. 0 - 1. With a shot curled in from just outside the middle of the penalty area after 7 minutes played, R. Giętkowski of Paltenu made the score 1 - 1. 23 minutes into the game, R. Matute had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide. V. Franqueira gave Paltenu the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 2 - 1 Paltenu's B. Téger was shown a yellow card after 26 minutes for slicing down an opponent. After 27 minutes Paltenu's M. Carluccio limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. The visitors almost came back with an equaliser 27 minutes into the match after a good combination down the middle, but when G. Gheorghe tried to finish the attack, he couldn't deliver the shot hard enough to seriously challenge the keeper. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1. st3aua claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

E. Codrut made a run for the goal 53 minutes into the game but the home team's left back managed to sort the situation out in the end. E. Codrut of st3aua received a yellow card after 54 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. The visitors' R. Matute was alert after a cross coming in from the left, levelling the score at 2 - 2 after 56 minutes. R. Heusser of st3aua was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Paltenu fans held their breath as R. Giętkowski scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 3 - 2! After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, E. Katter got himself booked. The manager of Paltenu was not happy. Possession in this half belonged to st3aua, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.

I. Jovanović performed admirably for Paltenu. A. Lamagna was a disappointment, however. Most important st3aua player was R. Matute. On the other hand, F. Zuppiroli's play was disheartening. The match ends 3 - 2.
