However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. With 30 minutes played, W. Vandevyver nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. Ø. Bøe was called on to replace Manchester's J. Maubach after 31 minutes following a nasty collision. B. Wright became the new Manchester captain. With 37 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience, M. Brzeziński needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. With 39 minutes played, Storhamar put themselves up 0 - 2 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was T. Utterell. After 40 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for E. Angelo who increased Storhamar's lead to 0 - 3. Confident in their lead, Storhamar's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. With 41 minutes played, A. Norfeldt of Manchester fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. A penalty was awarded after 42 minutes, and A. Engelstad made the most of his chance to put Storhamar up by another goal. 0 - 4 for the visitors. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave F. Tackmann from Storhamar a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 43 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! In a fantastic display of determination, Manchester's O. Helljesen forced himself to his feet, after an opponent viciously knocked him down. 0 - 4 was the halftime score. Storhamar enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 83 percent of possession.

After 73 minutes of game time, E. Angelo had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but Ø. Bøe was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. R. Wennfeldt of Storhamar took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 84 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 5. Storhamar almost scored after a counterattack 85 minutes into the match, but R. Wennfeldt took a shot from the left that landed harmlessly in the side of the net. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, R. Wennfeldt got himself booked. The manager of Storhamar was not happy. A. Norfeldt wasn't fit enough for a full game and made several mistakes out of sheer exhaustion. One of them was exploited by T. Utterell who shot home to make it 0 - 6. After 87 minutes, Storhamar's F. Tackmann burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 7. The visitors' F. Tackmann took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 89 minutes into the match. 0 - 8 for Storhamar. This third goal completed a hattrick for F. Tackmann. Storhamar claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 86 percent.

T. Gaupås performed admirably for Manchester. Ø. Bøe was a disappointment, however. Storhamar's top performer was clearly T. Utterell. However, D. Hatlen made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 8.
