Cirmos 1 - 6 Sasok (258018289)

It had rained all day, but 17850 hardy fans still made it out to Logan Arena. Jochen Deffner was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Alfonso Sandoval and Oronato Cano. The derby had been the talk of Budapest all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium. Cirmos decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players took the field: Loidl - Gróf, Dutschke, Köszegi - Bilos, Kiedeises, Smolec, Bátori, Fernández Mugartegui - Schultz von Dratzig, Ångner.

Sasok had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Starters: Bigas - Mønsted, Koppel, Córdova - Kuang, Baboss, Galambos, Jalsovszky, Basto - Baboss, Botija.

Cirmos's J. Ångner has the wonderful ability to create chances out of thin air. 2 minutes into the match he bamboozled a couple of opposition defenders before sending the keeper the wrong way and sidefooting the ball home into an empty net. That totally unexpected burst of flair made it 1 - 0. The rain made it hard for players like J. Schultz von Dratzig to show their technical control of the ball on this soggy day. With 19 minutes played, Sasok's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to F. Botija he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 1 - 1. The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit B. Smolec just fine. I. Basto had a good opportunity to give Sasok the lead as he charged down the right and struck the ball towards the top corner, but the home team's goalkeeper made the save. The guests took the lead 33 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in D. Kuang scoring to make it 1 - 2. Cirmos's S. Fernández Mugartegui had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 34 minutes having been played. K. Kusa was the replacement. It was 1 - 2 at the break. Sasok claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 67 percent.

A. Bilos, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass. The home crowd was not impressed when F. Botija came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 64 minutes. Sasok were now up 1 - 3. 70 minutes in, Cirmos's T. Gróf received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. After 71 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave Á. Galambos a chance to increase the lead for Sasok, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 4. Á. Baboss was, after 72 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper M. Loidl made the save. A drive down the left side allowed C. Córdova to get in close and score another goal for Sasok after 78 minutes, taking the score to 1 - 5. By now, the players in Sasok felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. The referee showed Cirmos's B. Smolec the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Á. Galambos got himself booked. The manager of Sasok was not happy. A well placed corner kick from C. Córdova was followed by F. Botija's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Sasok, the score now 1 - 6. At that, F. Botija was noted down for a hat trick! Sasok enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 63 percent of possession.

Most important Cirmos player was B. Smolec. T. Gróf on the other hand, had a terrible day. Sasok's best player was Á. Baboss. I. Basto turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 6.
