Dark skies made the crowd of 1220 at Stadium of Pride a little nervous, but the rain held off. Mauro Launz was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Roni Zenger and Adriano Marcato. A 5-4-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Warriors. Starters: Young - Milton, Campbell, Stone, Ghafouri-Shiraz, Dennahy - Mumford, Goucem, Thurmond, Challa - Maynard.

FCMisio started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Lineup: Brouwer - Ferraton, Marti, Tantôt - Chauvelot, Tricaud, Soule, Rohou, Orenblad - Mai, Joseph.

Warriors demonstrated their creative tactics on the field. I. Marti gave the visitors the lead 4 minutes into the match to make it 0 - 1. The goal was scored from the penalty spot after a handball in the penalty area. With 5 minutes played, the Warriors coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. C. Galardi came on, J. Milton had to leave the fray. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Warriors's H. Stone was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 5 minutes. A. Henri was given a chance to change things around. Warriors needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 5 minutes M. Dennahy made way for G. Picq. 13 minutes into the match, Warriors's A. Henri maneuvered his way around the opposition on the left flank, delighting the crowd with his twists and turns. The effort paid off as the ball found the back of the net, evening the score at 1 - 1. Warriors's A. Goucem was shown a yellow card after 21 minutes for slicing down an opponent. 22 minutes into the game, Warriors had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to weak. 1 - 1 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by FCMisio, with 53 percent of the ball.

The coach gave his players an extra tactical briefing during the break, and after that Warriors had solid organisation. Warriors were very close to putting themselves one up after 47 minutes as G. Picq got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide. With 48 minutes played, N. Thurmond of Warriors fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Warriors made it 2 - 1 as D. Challa got a touch to the floated corner kick and flicked the ball to C. Galardi who whipped a low drive in off the far post. With 55 minutes played, Warriors's N. Thurmond almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. The visitors didn't give in and, after 57 minutes, A. Mai got through the home side's central line of defence, rolling in the equaliser to make it 2 - 2. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of FCMisio's A. Orenblad after 69 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 2 - 3 lead. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, V. Chauvelot got himself booked. The manager of FCMisio was not happy. After 78 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave O. Soule a chance to increase the lead for FCMisio, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 2 - 4. Confident in their lead, FCMisio's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. 80 minutes in, Warriors appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only inadequate. Possession in this half belonged to FCMisio, who controlled the ball 62 percent of the time.

G. Picq performed admirably for Warriors. E. Maynard turned in a dismal performance, however. FCMisio's top performer was clearly O. Soule. However, M. Tricaud made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 4.
