previous 7/14 next 9/14  Bulgogi.Knights 0 - 5 Alphaville (267668756)

Due to an all-day shower, 12000 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at Bulgogi Chunguk. Néstor Homero Giordanengo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Karol Kudasik and Frans Moreels. Bulgogi.Knights decided to use a 3-4-3 set up. Starters: Pałdyna - Drulović, Nievas, Śliwiński - Dłoniak, Posern, Bustamante, Paulsson - Ledoux, Jacobsson, Doemel.

Alphaville had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Vilk - Rowek, Boó, de Cara - Prúndachki, Adalia, Kwak, Olenér, Li - Mares, Caduff.

Bulgogi.Knights mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. Alphaville used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. A. Paulsson had a hard time on the waterlogged pitch - his trademark technique was nowhere in sight today. The goal to make it 0 - 1 was scored by P. Caduff after 11 minutes, following an opportunistic counterattack down the middle by Alphaville. D. Li's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 14 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a delightful through ball to M. Mares who knocked it in for Alphaville. 0 - 2! M. Mares was, after 15 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper J. Pałdyna made the save. Alphaville increased their lead after 17 minutes when P. Caduff broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay. After this, you could see that the players of Alphaville were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, A. Paulsson got himself booked. The manager of Bulgogi.Knights was not happy. H. Prúndachki received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 21 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 4. The Alphaville fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. J. Kwak could have put his team up another goal 25 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. Bulgogi.Knights's J. Nievas was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 26 minutes. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 4. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Alphaville, with 67 percent of the ball.

Content with how the game was proceeding, the Alphaville coach let A. Semenenko replace H. Vilk after 46 minutes. 51 minutes into the match, J. Kwak came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. The referee showed Bulgogi.Knights's C. Posern the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. J. Kwak of Alphaville had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game. A. Rizo came in to finish the match. C. Posern received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 64 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. P. Caduff of Alphaville took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 71 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 5. This third goal completed a hattrick for P. Caduff. After the ball was lifted in from the left, P. Caduff was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 79 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. The home crowd cheered when, after 83 minutes, H. Prúndachki's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. Alphaville enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 75 percent of possession.

Bulgogi.Knights's best player was C. Posern. P. Drulović was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Alphaville player was without a doubt P. Adalia. H. Prúndachki on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 5.
