previous 9/14 next 11/14  Seoul FC 0 - 4 Alphaville (268167940)

The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 50000 had shown up at St. John Beck Stadium for the match. Anatole Malet was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Tom Krey and Balduin Matkowitz. Seoul FC had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Kaisler - Carrera, Masip, Pederson - Nøjgaard, Schrimpf, Georget, Forslius, Park - Furgone, Remédios.

Alphaville tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. Starters: Semenenko - Skinner, Rowek, de Cara - Stålhult, Olenér, Prúndachki, Kwak - Mares, Åkerander, Caduff.

Seoul FC seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. Alphaville tried to focus their attacks down the middle. Alphaville's A. Stålhult managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 3 minutes. 0 - 1. 28 minutes in, Seoul FC's R. Masip received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. With 31 minutes played, M. Mares nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. A drive down the left side allowed P. Caduff to get in close and score another goal for Alphaville after 36 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 2. P. Olenér left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 36 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. D. Li was the replacement. Halftime score was 0 - 2. Possession in this half belonged to Alphaville, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.

Content with how the game was proceeding, the Alphaville coach let A. Boó replace C. Rowek after 46 minutes. K. Åkerander increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 3. After this, you could see that the players of Alphaville were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. After 67 minutes of game time, P. Caduff had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but R. Kaisler was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner. Alphaville's M. Mares got himself booked for a foul. Alphaville increased their lead after 77 minutes when A. Boó broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 4, much to the home crowd's dismay. S. Blake was called on to replace Seoul FC's R. Kaisler after 81 minutes following a nasty collision. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, J. Pederson took over the role of being the Seoul FC captain. Alphaville claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 61 percent.

Seoul FC's top performer was clearly S. Blake. J. Pederson on the other hand, had a terrible day. K. Åkerander performed admirably for Alphaville. M. Mares was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 4.
