14000 punters turned up at Camp Pasargad, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Koos Pon was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Stefan Kerber and Rawl Bollen. A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Pasargad. They fielded: Henrard - Sharif Emami, Ayyoubi, Ansari, Salimi - Ashoubi, Deriszadeh, Mousavi, Salehi Marzijarani - Rastinpour, Barkhordari.

Aftabesazi decided to use a 5-3-2 set up. Lineup: Compagnoni - Dervilla, Cederdahl, Daeubel, Abidi, Adlon - Tollefsen, Pietari, Manninger - Baharan, Zimnis.

After 30 minutes of play, F. Rastinpour gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. 38 minutes into the game Aftabesazi's R. Manninger found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 1 - 1. Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 40 minutes into the match left Aftabesazi's E. Zimnis completely free to score. 1 - 2 for the visitors. 1 - 2 was the score after the first half. Aftabesazi enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 66 percent of possession.

Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 48 minutes, Aftabesazi did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, E. Zimnis was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 1 - 3. An indecisive keeper looked on as a free kick by Aftabesazi's R. Manninger put the visitors up 1 - 4 after 49 minutes. The coach of Aftabesazi was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 50 minutes, A. Kepp came on for V. Pietari. The referee showed Aftabesazi's M. Tollefsen the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. With 60 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed A. Kepp of Aftabesazi to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 1 - 5. There was concern in the stands when, at the 63 minute mark, Pasargad's D. Barkhordari hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. After 64 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for R. Manninger who increased Aftabesazi's lead to 1 - 6. That made three goals for R. Manninger and he was marked down for the hat trick. The players of Aftabesazi now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. M. Tollefsen left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 65 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. Š. Zelený was the replacement. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Aftabesazi, with 63 percent of the ball.

Pasargad's best player was D. Barkhordari. However, M. Ayyoubi made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Aftabesazi player was without a doubt R. Manninger. G. Compagnoni turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 6.
