solitude 8 - 3 B.F.C. (285750794)

A scorching day at Chimérique Stadium, where 4357 spectators were in place for today's match. Marko Vještica was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Lukas Andersson and Marciano Recep. A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for solitude. Lineup: Kaśków - Blanc, Thiriet - Amelot, Blondeau, Falbratt, Gaignard, Floret - Mendes, Gallardo, Pieptobak.

B.F.C. had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation. Starters: Pacheco - Roe, Pisciotta - Frutuoso, Kozub, Barros, Quadrado, Aittamäki - Liukku, Macello, Lopes Nogueira.

B.F.C. demonstrated their creative tactics on the field. Many thought V. Thiriet ought to have been awarded a penalty 12 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around H. Pacheco after a determined run through the middle. After 22 minutes, B.F.C.'s A. Frutuoso made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. There was concern in the stands when, at the 27 minute mark, B.F.C.'s P. Quadrado hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. After 29 minutes, solitude raised their score by one when L. Floret's dangerous low cross was cleverly tucked in at the near post by J. Mendes. 1 - 1. Given a free kick in a difficult position after 33 minutes, solitude tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. After 34 minutes of play, P. Falbratt gave the home team a 2 - 1 lead after an attack coming in from the right. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 1. solitude had most of the ball, with 73 percent of possession.

It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why P. Quadrado found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. E. Gaignard squirmed through their central defence after 55 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 1. The visitors replied 61 minutes into the game, reducing the home side's lead to 3 - 2, as L. Macello dashed up the middle, easily lobbing the ball over the home team's keeper. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave F. Barros from B.F.C. a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 66 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Cheers filled the stadium as P. Gallardo broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 2 to solitude. The head of P. Gallardo connected with a corner kick after 71 minutes, and the ball ended up with F. Pieptobak of solitude who blasted the ball into the net, making the score 5 - 2. The players of solitude now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. solitude solidified their lead at the 73 minute mark, as P. Gallardo dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 6 - 2. With 82 minutes showing on the scoreboard clock, B.F.C. showed some good skill and were able to reduce the score to 6 - 3 when F. Pisciotta got past the home side's central defenders right in front of the goal. Usually a powerful player on the field, K. Kozub looked kind of pale and tired under the hot sun. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of solitude to 7 - 3 as J. Mendes finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. 85 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as J. Mendes broke through, making the score 8 - 3 for solitude. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for J. Mendes. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by solitude, with 75 percent of the ball.

Most important solitude player was P. Falbratt. L. Blanc on the other hand, had a terrible day. L. Macello performed admirably for B.F.C.. However, F. Barros made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 8 - 3.
