mughals 0 - 9 KarachiFC (286792219)

The crowd of 6078 turning up at Arenoid mughalz today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Joes Beukman was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Alexander Ovchinnikov and Stefano Solinas. mughals had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Lineup: Najam - Bhutta, Kiani, Mushaf, Channa - Humayun, Imdad, Aitzaz, Rabbani - Khan, Mehmood.

KarachiFC tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Coello - Sepp, Sarphati, Enø - Coassin, Næss, Štěpánek, Šušterčič, Barbas - Manciocco, Junco.

As the 1 minute mark approached, the KarachiFC coach decided it was time for a substitution. T. Næss reluctantly made way for A. Mansoor on the pitch. 1 minutes into the game, KarachiFC wanted to bring some new energy to their game. L. Šušterčič gave K. Hanif a quick hug as he left the field. 1 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a KarachiFC substitution. G. Étcheverry came on for B. Štěpánek. The visiting A. Mansoor was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 2 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. A. Mansoor of KarachiFC took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 23 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 2. R. Enø slipped and slithered in the wet grass. His usual rapid runs were nowhere to be seen today. KarachiFC increased their lead after 31 minutes when M. Sarphati broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay. After 42 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave A. Manciocco a chance to increase the lead for KarachiFC, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 4. Confident in their lead, KarachiFC's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. K. Hanif was having a great game - if anything the pouring rain seemed to be spurring him on! A drive down the left side allowed A. Mansoor to get in close and score another goal for KarachiFC after 44 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 5. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for A. Mansoor. It was 0 - 5 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to KarachiFC, who controlled the ball 66 percent of the time.

The KarachiFC coach was visibly pleased with the score so far, but still ordered a few tactical changes 50 minutes into the game. After 52 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed A. Mansoor to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 6. The home keeper was stunned 54 minutes into the match when he misjudged the free kick by V. Sepp and dived in the wrong direction. The visitors increased the lead to 0 - 7. The KarachiFC free kick 59 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of A. Mansoor, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 0 - 8! With 64 minutes played, KarachiFC put themselves up 0 - 9 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was A. Manciocco. With 67 minutes played, M. Sarphati of KarachiFC fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like A. Mansoor. Had it not been for one of the home defenders, M. Sarphati would have put KarachiFC up another goal 80 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by KarachiFC, with 66 percent of the ball.

S. Aitzaz performed admirably for mughals. On the other hand, I. Najam's play was disheartening. Most important KarachiFC player was A. Manciocco. B. Coassin on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 9.
