Bonnot 4 - 0 BBUB

Clouds darkened the skies at Brigante Angiolillo as 21500 spectators turned up for the match. Josef Steuber was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Izo Matsuoka and Colin Knöpfli. The head coach flashed hand signals from the sideline and Bonnot formed up in a 3-4-3 combination. Let's hope the opposing sideline wasn't filming that. They fielded: Laudadio - Jachura, Andrijašević, Stevens - Pereira, Alemán, Hessel, Lohausen - Corocher, Egebjerg, Baykul.

Cry "havoc" and let loose the dogs of war! BBUB will go to battle in a 3-5-1 formation. Starters: Elorregui - Sánchez, Laviña, Cavicchia Scalamonti - Pieracci, Pula, Brieve, Palla, Tammisto - Morgadinho.

Bonnot went for a narrow approach, using their formidable ability to focus their attacks down the middle. The game had been going for 19 minutes when V. Egebjerg came in on the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to put away the 1 - 0 goal, giving Bonnot the lead. After 27 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as BBUB found themselves out of position and their organization level dropped to poor. 33 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defense had to look on as V. Egebjerg ran straight through, knocking one home to make it 2 - 0 for Bonnot. By now, the players of Bonnot felt that victory was a sure thing and began to play it safe, focusing on defense and not risking too much going forward. Cheers filled the stadium as U. Corocher broke through the visitors' central defense to put away the 3 - 0 goal for Bonnot. Bonnot solidified their lead at the 38 minute mark, as V. Egebjerg snaked the ball through the central line of defense and finished for 4 - 0. At that, V. Egebjerg was noted down for a hattrick! BBUB had a fair chance to reply after 39 minutes due to some fine moves down the left, but in the end E. Morgadinho was slow to keep up with the play and was unable to make it into the penalty box to apply a finish. 4 - 0 was the score after the first half. The forty-five minutes were dominated by Bonnot, with an impressive 62 percent possession of the ball.

BBUB's coach went over the strategy again during the break, and after that his players had passable organization. A counter-attack by BBUB after 53 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but E. Morgadinho, coming in on the left, waited too long to shoot. Big paper red cards were being held up by the opposing supporters with 59 minutes on the clock after C. Stevens's mistimed tackle from behind. The referee only showed the Bonnot player a yellow card though. Unfortunately for BBUB, A. Palla was injured as the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. G. Pasquariello replaced him. C. Stevens let loose a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. S. Andrijašević should probably have put his team up another goal after 70 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by V. Elorregui kept the visitors in the game. Bonnot's F. Hessel had an excellent opportunity 71 minutes in, shooting after bringing down a ball from the right, but he missed the goal by miles! Maybe G. Pasquariello should join the aquatics team instead. He went down dramatically after 75 minutes, crying out with agony as he fell. The referee was not impressed, though, and showed him a yellow for diving. 76 minutes into the game, BBUB seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a inadequate level of organization. The Count appeared on the jumbotron and announced that Bonnot had 61...61 percent possession. AH AH AH!

Most important Bonnot player was E. Alemán. Even six year old fans were wincing at the poor play by S. Laudadio today. BBUB's top performer was clearly F. Brieve. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because G. Pasquariello seemed to stumble all over the pitch. The match ends 4 - 0.
