DRAGONS 4 - 1 SDS (300870569)

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 2950 to WAR DRAGONS DARK NEST. DRAGONS tactics involved an interesting 5-4-1 combination. The following players had been chosen: Cajet - Maldonado Dávila, Zapatero, Mallma, Holguín, Chiriboga - Vainioinen, Caro, Rejas, 瀬戸 (Seto) - Zevallos.

SDS decided to use a 5-3-2 set up. They fielded: Chelariu - Epalza, Texier, Vozba, Wendt, Ladu - Hamdi, Janševskis, Hendriksson - Iriso, Lobo.

DRAGONS preferred to finish off their attacks from a distance. Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of SDS. SDS mounted an inspired counterattack down the right wing after 8 minutes, but P. Wendt was unable to convert from short range. With 22 minutes played, G. Texier of SDS fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. R. Chiriboga of DRAGONS received a yellow card after 31 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. After 35 minutes, the defensive line of SDS created a counterattack through the middle that gave P. Wendt a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. DRAGONS's R. Chiriboga soared above the crowd, but couldn't knock the corner home 36 minutes into the match. It was 0 - 0 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to DRAGONS, who controlled the ball 77 percent of the time.

The corner kick from G. Ladu was powerfully met by the head of D. Epalza to make the score 0 - 1. The crowd chanted their encouragement as DRAGONS's J. Zevallos came in from the right after 70 minutes and put the ball in the net to level the score at 1 - 1. After 71 minutes of play, J. Mallma gave the home team a 2 - 1 lead after an attack coming in from the right. After 72 minutes, J. Zevallos put DRAGONS ahead 3 - 1 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. DRAGONS put themselves up 4 - 1 when A. Holguín broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. The players of DRAGONS now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. SDS needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 89 minutes N. Janševskis made way for C. Güller. With 89 minutes played, the SDS coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. A. Barros came on, F. Iriso had to leave the fray. The bench was restless, and with 89 minutes passed SDS's coach gave R. Pavel the opportunity the player had been hoping for. E. Lobo reluctantly left the field. DRAGONS claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.

A. Vainioinen performed admirably for DRAGONS. However, 尚. 瀬戸 (Seto) made a disastrous appearance. SDS's best player was A. Barros. V. Chelariu on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 4 - 1.
