Aboomoslem 0 - 6 Deyhim (302484589)

4637 spectators had found their way to Aboomoslem Freddy Arena, despite the heavy rain. Adam Munduch was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Lenz Pohndorff and David Teixidó. Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this Tehran derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents. Aboomoslem had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players took the field: Halász - Esmaeili, Mehmandoust, Omidvari - García-Soberón, Hajji, Shaghaghi, Hernando, Marin - Iraji, Meshkini.

Deyhim started off with a 5-4-1 lineup. They fielded: Omrani - Toresson, Bidstrup, Lied, Popovici, Burgemeester - Reichlin-Meldegg, Bahar, Izadyar, MacGilbert - Fontelas.

After 4 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Aboomoslem found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to inadequate. Deyhim took the lead 8 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle. S. Popovici was the scorer. A drive down the left side allowed M. Reichlin-Meldegg to get in close and score another goal for Deyhim after 17 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 2. The game was characterised by rough play and many physical challenges on the wet field, but T. Lied showed great heart and had a good game. The visitors nearly scored again after 38 minutes, but a superb save by P. Halász kept E. Fontelas's free kick out of the net. After 39 minutes, Deyhim were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise. M. Reichlin-Meldegg did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans. 40 minutes into the game, Aboomoslem had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to poor. E. Fontelas was, after 41 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper P. Halász made the save. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2. Deyhim claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 83 percent.

During the break, Aboomoslem's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to passable organisation. The coach of Deyhim was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 46 minutes, A. Bleve came on for D. Burgemeester. The visitors' E. Fontelas took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 55 minutes into the match. 0 - 3 for Deyhim. The Deyhim players could smell victory in the air. H. Toresson wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for M. Enis after 60 minutes. The home crowd was not impressed when M. Reichlin-Meldegg came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 64 minutes. Deyhim were now up 0 - 4. By now, the players in Deyhim felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. 70 minutes in, Aboomoslem appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only passable. E. Fontelas of Deyhim took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 71 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 5. P. Izadyar wanted to play on, but the Deyhim coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 77 minutes into the game by H. Shahbazi. Deyhim's A. Bleve made use of his speed to get free of the defence, but he still couldn't get a shot off 82 minutes into the match. 83 minutes into the game a free kick by E. Fontelas found its way through the home side's poorly assembled defensive formation, making Deyhim's lead 0 - 6. At that, E. Fontelas was noted down for a hat trick! Deyhim had most of the ball, with 69 percent of possession.

Aboomoslem's best player was M. Iraji. F. Shaghaghi turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Deyhim player was without a doubt T. Lied. On the other hand, H. Shahbazi's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 6.
