(319605724)

02-04-2011 12.30
The 18437 spectators at
Attila Sallustro were in for an afternoon of sunshine.
Fabrice Merrien was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Carl Håkansson and
Laurent Briot.
Escobar decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
They fielded: Pizzotti - Vanelli Coralli, Mazzeschi, Sejrsen - Tibaldi, Granelli, Indelicato, Cellai, Hansson - Siracusa, Santoriello.
Alessandria had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
Starters: Piemontese - Rado, Fanfara, Večeralo - 敬维 (Jingwei), Schirripa, Mužík, Hütt, Diarena - Zvietich, Kirk Jensen.
鲍. 敬维 (Jingwei) made one of his many fine passes from the wing into the middle 21 minutes into the match.
S. Kirk Jensen bravely attempted to execute a diving header and the ball was met firmly with his forehead for Alessandria. 0 - 1.
A good free kick by
G. Indelicato would have scored the equaliser for Escobar, had it not been for the dramatic save by the visitors' goalkeeper.
29 minutes into the match, Escobar's
L. Sejrsen maneuvered his way around the opposition on the left flank, delighting the crowd with his twists and turns. The effort paid off as the ball found the back of the net, evening the score at 1 - 1.
After 35 minutes Alessandria's
S. Kirk Jensen contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game.
V. Santoriello's technique was perfect on this sunny day and led to some breathtaking tricks that bamboozled the defence.
With 40 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 2 - 1 lead as
A. Vanelli Coralli flipped the ball in after a cross from the right.
Escobar's
L. Sejrsen had an excellent opportunity after 43 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles!
2 - 1 was the score after the first half.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Escobar, with 65 percent of the ball.
V. Santoriello wanted to play on, but the Escobar coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 46 minutes into the game by
V. Broglia.
V. Siracusa didn't pace himself at all, and after a series of daring offensive runs he was too tired to help out in the defensive play.
Escobar increased the lead as
M. Hansson struck to make the score 3 - 1 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper.
B. Loffredo was called on to replace Escobar's
V. Broglia after 65 minutes following a nasty collision.
The referee showed Alessandria's
P. Schirripa the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
L. Sejrsen should probably have put his team up another goal after 88 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
N. Piemontese kept the visitors in the game.
Possession in this half belonged to Escobar, who controlled the ball 62 percent of the time.
Most important Escobar player was
M. Hansson.
B. Loffredo on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The most dominating Alessandria player was without a doubt
S. Mužík.
P. Schirripa was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 3 - 1.
