22143 fans braved the pouring rain at
Filadelfia.
Kévin Croissant was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Jean-Charles Jason and
Giulio Pancrazzi.
Bull decided to use a 5-3-2 set up.
The following players had been chosen: Sperlinga - Frezzolino, Săvulescu, Di Taranto, Adelebsen, Mulzer - Damato, Banzato, Nevola - Weiss, Topciov.
Roonz tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
They fielded: Loria - Mor-Yossef, Liebrich, Rehhagen - Bire, Svensson, Pazols, Flasz, Pimentel - Caballón, Szekfű.
Bull used their skill at pressing to cut off the attack angles of their opponents all over the field.
The strategy for Roonz was to use their ability to press.
Bull pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times.
After 12 minutes Roonz's
A. Mor-Yossef contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game.
The guests almost went up by a goal after 30 minutes when
P. Svensson came through and shot from the right. The ball bounced harmlessly off the post, though.
A free kick aimed at the keeper's far post almost gave Roonz the lead 39 minutes in, but the ball just wasn't able to squirm its way through the defensive wall.
It was 0 - 0 at the break.
Roonz claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 85 percent.
P. Flasz, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass.
The visitors could have taken the lead from a free kick after 54 minutes, if it wasn't for the jaw-dropping save by
G. Sperlinga.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
A. Mor-Yossef got himself booked. The manager of Roonz was not happy.
Some things can only be learned through experience, and
C. Săvulescu should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting Roonz a goal with 61 minutes of the match played.
The guests took the lead 62 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in
J. Caballón scoring to make it 0 - 1.
Roonz's
P. Flasz refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 70 minutes.
73 minutes into the match,
J. Caballón came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide.
P. Svensson came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over
G. Sperlinga but overcooked it and hit the bar instead.
Bull's
E. Topciov got himself booked for a foul.
After 82 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
S. Bire to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 2.
Roonz had most of the ball, with 85 percent of possession.
Bull's best player was
S. Frezzolino.
M. Banzato was a disappointment, however.
P. Svensson performed admirably for Roonz.
However,
A. Mor-Yossef made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 0 - 2.
