SESTRI 5 - 0 pavò

Dark skies made the crowd of 18075 at C N SESTRI Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Dawid Leja was the appointed referee. Cry "havoc" and let loose the dogs of war! SESTRI will go to battle in a 3-4-3 formation. Lineup: Lara - Molena, Korlin, Albrink - Beglov, Usodemar, Iversen, de Zwaan - van Eijk, Kavur, Perricone.

After thorough analysis and consultation of astrological charts, pavò decided to go with a 4-4-2 formation. Starters: Sartur - L'hoir, Haber, Demirsoy, Bozhkov - Fernández, Almog, Pach, Rawa - Rietman, Kofoed.

pavò's game plan was to sit back and absorb the pressure, then use their excellent ability to break on the counter whenever possible. P. Sarv was called on to replace SESTRI's M. Albrink after 4 minutes following a nasty collision. Big paper red cards were being held up by the opposing supporters with 28 minutes on the clock after B. Kofoed's mistimed tackle from behind. The referee only showed the pavò player a yellow card though. Parents shielded their children's eyes as SESTRI's R. de Zwaan left the field on a stretcher from a studs-first challenge. Oh good night - his thigh is ripped open! It looks like a pack of zombies got a hold of him! E. Abate took his place on the pitch. With 32 minutes of the match played, a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but Z. Demirsoy, after dashing down on goal from the left and finding himself with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide. After 34 minutes cheers broke out as H. Iversen found his way through the guests' central defensive line, rattling the 1 - 0 goal in off the woodwork for SESTRI. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in SESTRI's A. Perricone bringing the lead up to 2 - 0. After a play down the right 43 minutes into the match, SESTRI's J. Usodemar unleashed a ferocious shot that smashed into the roof of the net - after going over the crossbar. Halftime score was 2 - 0. The Count appeared on the jumbotron and announced that SESTRI had 61...61 percent possession. AH AH AH!

A foul called during a pavò counter-attack resulted in a great chance to score, but T. Fernández's shot rattled off the post. Given a free kick from an impossible angle, SESTRI went for a play that loyal fans may recognize from training. A square ball surprised the defense and let A. Perricone slip through at goal. He hit it first time, making the score 3 - 0, 62 minutes into the game. After this, you could see that SESTRI's players were mostly interested in killing time and holding on to their lead. After more pushing and shoving than a pack of helicopter moms trying to get the last appointment for their snowflakes to see the Easter Bunny, SESTRI's B. Kavur finally got himself booked for a foul. 68 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defense had to look on as T. van Eijk ran straight through, knocking one home to make it 4 - 0 for SESTRI. Some things can only be learned through experience, and E. Abate should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting pavò a goal after 72 minutes. Things were going from bad to worse for the visitors. B. Kavur was able to squirm through the central defense after 76 minutes and score, bringing the lead to 5 - 0. After 77 minutes pavò's K. Rawa contracted a slight foot injury, but said he could still finish the game. SESTRI set the tempo, maintaining 63 percent of possession.

A. Perricone performed admirably for SESTRI. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because P. Sarv seemed to stumble all over the pitch. pavò's best player was T. Fernández. Speaking of stinking up the place, G. Sartur sure smelled like the bottom of Batman's shoe after a night of crimefighting in Gotham. The match ends 5 - 0.
