BOMBARDEIROS 5 - 3 Fene (320834525)

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 18746 to DA VITORIA. Konrad Morys was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Marko Miklošič and Ian Chestnut. People from all over Galicia had joined up for the derby. BOMBARDEIROS tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination. The following players took the field: Mateu - Tainio, Erwald - Dhaese, Ionită, Zilkens, Robinstein, Tali - Markovski, Spasov, Jančát.

Fene decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Lineup: Śmigasiewicz - Ramalho, Jonassen, Baybaş - Mahjoubi, Ewings, Facius, Biancucci, Fehrbelliner - Ivan, Wronka.

BOMBARDEIROS saw most attack opportunities on the wings. Fene clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 9 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from N. Dhaese, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. M. Markovski had a fantastic opportunity to put BOMBARDEIROS up another goal 21 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, J. Fehrbelliner got himself booked. The manager of Fene was not happy. M. Markovski could have increased the lead after 30 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. BOMBARDEIROS managed to extend their lead to 2 - 0 when S. Tainio cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. After 42 minutes, Fene's F. Mahjoubi fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit! Fene's right side looked dangerous after 43 minutes, as K. Facius broke through. Á. Mateu continued to stifle them, however, as he made the save look easy. The home team's fans were upset when, after 44 minutes, the visiting B. Wronka broke through the central defence and kicked the ball past the keeper. 2 - 1 was the score. 2 - 1 was the halftime score. This part of the game was a standoff between the teams in terms of possession.

The BOMBARDEIROS free kick 55 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of S. Zilkens, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 3 - 1! Fene's G. Ivan proved that he's been around on a football pitch before, when he took advantage of a few moments of confusion in the opposition's defensive line and elegantly scored for 3 - 2. BOMBARDEIROS put themselves up 4 - 2 when N. Dhaese broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. By now, the players in BOMBARDEIROS felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. The coach of BOMBARDEIROS was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 70 minutes, H. ter Velde came on for S. Tainio. M. Markovski left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 72 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. A. Pollard was the replacement. H. Tali wanted to play on, but the BOMBARDEIROS coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 75 minutes into the game by D. Leys. Fene had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. The visitors replied 77 minutes into the game, reducing the home side's lead to 4 - 3, as G. Ivan dashed up the middle, easily lobbing the ball over the home team's keeper. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of BOMBARDEIROS to 5 - 3 as N. Dhaese finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. By then N. Dhaese had scored three goals - a hat trick! Attacking on the wings was the choice for BOMBARDEIROS, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. BOMBARDEIROS had most of the ball, with 51 percent of possession.

Most important BOMBARDEIROS player was R. Jančát. However, A. Pollard made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Fene player was without a doubt J. Ewings. L. Śmigasiewicz was a disappointment, however. The match ends 5 - 3.
