Dark skies made the crowd of 15086 at The Voodoo Wide a little nervous, but the rain held off. Oscar Della Bianca was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jakob Unzeitig and António Carlos Saraiva. Architecture started off with a 4-4-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Hangya - Highfield, Skinner, Cervera, Rößler - Kollmair, Sulaiman, Topham, Lemieszek - Payet, Valken.

Eagles decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. They fielded: Zuccato - Oropeza, Scott, Magyari - Geyer, Bolòs, Di Girolamo, Götzel, Metcalfe - Bellagotti, Kefalakis.

The strategy for Architecture was to use their ability to press. N. Kefalakis came close to putting the visiting team one up 6 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but M. Hangya managed to tip the ball to a corner. C. Oropeza received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 17 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score. Eagles's B. Scott could have put the guests one up after 32 minutes after chasing a through ball from the right, but M. Hangya was as fast as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose. The guests took the lead 39 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in A. Bolòs scoring to make it 0 - 1. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Eagles, who controlled the ball 74 percent of the time.

After 52 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for G. Di Girolamo who increased Eagles's lead to 0 - 2. After 56 minutes, Eagles's C. Oropeza burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 3. Confident in their lead, Eagles's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. D. Geyer received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 60 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 4. The Eagles fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. Eagles's B. Scott was shown a yellow card after 65 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Architecture's H. Topham got himself booked for a foul. 69 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 5 as D. Geyer finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. 71 minutes into the game, Eagles worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Eagles coach let H. Kramarczyk replace N. Kefalakis after 80 minutes. H. Kramarczyk became the new Eagles captain. The Eagles players could smell victory in the air. A. Metcalfe wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for J. McHugh after 80 minutes. With 84 minutes played, R. Skinner of Architecture fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Eagles claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 74 percent.

Architecture's top performer was clearly V. Payet. However, F. Sulaiman made a disastrous appearance. Most important Eagles player was A. Bellagotti. J. McHugh turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 5.
