(330628116)

12-04-2011 20.00
Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 39277 at
Eboué today.
George Burcã was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Detlef Specker and
Pavao Parica.
Turmaksen tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Starters: Koukkari - van der Lubbe, Ebermann, Piekarniak - Kuenzel, Fisher, Podda, Andreassen, Rickard - Vivez, Pukanych.
A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Metsku.
They fielded: Barón - Della Mea, Carlsson, Navarro Méndez, Gonyalon - Turino, Eldad, Stet, Alomerović, Agostinho Alves - Formica.
Turmaksen saw most attack opportunities on the wings.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
D. Fisher from Turmaksen a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 3 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
28 minutes into the game,
G. Turino was a hair's breadth away from giving Metsku the lead with a shot from over on the left. A prompt block by
T. Koukkari saved the home team that time.
J. Navarro Méndez of Metsku seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 0 - 1 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by
T. Stet.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
R. Della Mea got himself booked. The manager of Metsku was not happy.
Halftime score was 0 - 1.
Metsku claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.
The Turmaksen coach was desperate to reverse his team's fortunes in the game, and ordered his team to change strategy.
F. Alomerović was, after 69 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper
T. Koukkari made the save.
The Metsku players could smell victory in the air.
A. Carlsson wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
M. Deijkers after 74 minutes.
After 74 minutes, the Metsku players received new instructions from their manager on how to keep in control of the game.
Content with how the game was proceeding, the Metsku coach let
H. Viinamäki replace
O. Eldad after 76 minutes.
Some fine movement on the left led to a Metsku goal after 86 minutes, making it 0 - 2.
A. Formica was noted down as the scorer.
The home crowd was not impressed when
A. Formica came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 87 minutes. Metsku were now up 0 - 3.
Confident in their lead, Metsku's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
Metsku had to manage with a reduced squad after 88 minutes, as
T. Stet got sent off for a needless foul away from the game's action.
R. Della Mea came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over
T. Koukkari but overcooked it and hit the bar instead.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Metsku, with 54 percent of the ball.
Turmaksen's top performer was clearly
O. Ebermann.
J. Piekarniak was a disappointment, however.
The most dominating Metsku player was without a doubt
A. Formica.
A. Gonyalon on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 0 - 3.
