A scorching day at olimp athlet, where 12000 spectators were in place for today's match. Romuald Pankowski was the appointed referee with assistance provided by David Fransson and Metoděj Skalský. superstar007 tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. They fielded: Surautsau - Janisels, Lapskalns, Primenko, Eglītis - Lauciņš, Krikun, Korzhev, Trukšāns - Titovs, Lukyantsev.

Unleashers had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Lineup: Roze-Jumiķis - Kolyaskin, Mundiņš, Kapashevich, Kūmiņš - Vilks, Prokhorov, Zicāns, Bērziņš - Nagornov, Nesaule.

The most controversial moment of the game was likely the penalty given after 5 minutes. Unleashers's A. Kolyaskin kept his concentration, despite the upset crowd, and calmly put the ball past the keeper to make the score 0 - 1. I. Primenko charged down the left and had a wonderful opportunity to score the equaliser for superstar007, but the shot went well wide of the goal. The referee showed superstar007's E. Lauciņš the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Unfortunately for Unleashers, A. Bērziņš was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. A. Androsyuk replaced him. With 27 minutes played, after a good run down the left, K. Lukyantsev went down looking for a penalty after a challenge from the visitors' right fullback, but the referee waved play on, and later warned him for diving. After 28 minutes, Unleashers surprised their opponents with a breakaway counter attack. The defenders had to resort to a foul to stop it. The free kick that followed was a clever indirect effort that almost succeeded, but the defence read the situation well and the intended recipient was left ruing what might have been. G. Ribenis was called on to replace superstar007's R. Janisels after 31 minutes following a nasty collision. With a shot curled in from just outside the middle of the penalty area after 35 minutes played, G. Eglītis of superstar007 made the score 1 - 1. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave A. Nagornov from Unleashers a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 37 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! K. Lapskalns was the unlucky victim and couldn't continue the game, so superstar007's V. Beloedov had to come off the bench. 1 - 1 was the score after the first half. superstar007 claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 68 percent.

They were singing the praises of G. Eglītis 52 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 2 - 1 to superstar007. After 65 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by K. Lukyantsev might have resulted in another goal for superstar007. However, A. Roze-Jumiķis made a spectacular save. J. Vilks's early cross saw the defenders caught out of position and the alert A. Androsyuk was able to pounce and roll the ball past the hapless goalkeeper to score for Unleashers. 2 - 2. superstar007 took the lead after 79 minutes as a result of R. Titovs's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 3 - 2. superstar007's E. Lauciņš saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 80 minutes. A corner kick created great disorder in the penalty area with a goal nearly scored by V. Beloedov. At last, superstar007's G. Eglītis was able to backheel the ball in. 4 - 2. By then G. Eglītis had scored three goals - a hat trick! F. Korzhev of superstar007 was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. superstar007 had most of the ball, with 67 percent of possession.

K. Lukyantsev performed admirably for superstar007. U. Surautsau turned in a dismal performance, however. Unleashers's best player was Z. Nesaule. However, A. Kūmiņš made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 4 - 2.
