Fairly good weather for soccer had drawn a crowd of 13705 to VIA DEL MARE. Piotr Kisieliński was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Samuli Nickberg and Vasco Mariano. U.S.LECCE had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. They fielded: Casamayor - Armata, Paolinelli, Christensen - Marotta, Târca, Gyurkovits, Marcellin - Riveros, Goes, Moğol.

Above decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Lineup: Mela - Biffino, Niccolini, Idham - Pardi, Fredriksson, Morettini, Antuña, Mininni - Cronembold, Gilardi.

Above seemed to prefer attacking in the middle. The visiting C. Biffino was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 6 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. Some hard work on the right gave U.S.LECCE a wonderful opportunity to level the score after 12 minutes, and A. Marotta stepped up to the challenge, netting the 1 - 1 goal. J. Antuña came close to putting the visiting team one up 27 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but I. Casamayor managed to tip the ball over. Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Above, and they were successfully passing the ball from the wing into the middle at the behest of their coach. 1 - 1 was the halftime score. Above set the tempo, maintaining 57 percent of possession.

Above's S. Gilardi managed to lose the defenders as he burst through the right side and scored, putting the visitors ahead, 1 - 2. After 71 minutes, speedy G. Riveros dashed past his marker, making plenty of room for the second wave of attack. However, Ş. Moğol failed to score. 72 minutes into the game, Ş. Moğol came close to leveling the score with a dangerous shot from the center of the area that went just over the bar. Above won the midfield battle for the half, with 60 percent possession of the ball.

The most dominating U.S.LECCE player was without a doubt A. Goes. On the other hand, J. Marcellin's play was disheartening. Above's top performer was clearly J. Antuña. C. Pardi was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 2.
