41100 spectators arrived at Karvago Bernabeu, where weather conditions were pretty good for soccer. Teoharie Marc was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Samuel Larsson and Jérémie Piaget. Gentlemen prefer blondes and karvaturret prefers a 2-5-3. Let's see how this plays out for them. The following players took the field: Dúró - Vecumnieks, Dankner - Parisi, Bodner, Stigell, Kostuś, Badmann - Forlán, Ylhäinen, Kakko.

Cry "havoc" and let loose the dogs of war! Kärsämäki will go to battle in a 4-4-2 formation. The following players had been selected: Helveranta - Studler, Teittinen, Piiroinen, Koivisto - Husgafvel, Killinger, Kirjonen, Enholm - Romberg, Matala-aho.

Today, karvaturret's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks, taking advantage of their excellent ability. Players in karvaturret heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead. With 3 minutes gone, the home side took a 1 - 0 lead as L. Badmann raced down the right flank and casually flipped the ball into the net after a searing cross from the far side of the pitch. Maybe G. Killinger should join the aquatics team instead. He went down dramatically after 10 minutes, crying out with agony as he fell. The referee was not impressed, though, and showed him a yellow for diving. karvaturret managed to extend their lead to 2 - 0 when C. Stigell slid in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. After 32 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as karvaturret found themselves out of position and their organization level dropped to solid. Having already been booked, Kärsämäki's G. Killinger was trying to play a more careful game, but after 35 minutes he made a bad tackle on instinct and received his second yellow card - he's off! After more pushing and shoving than a pack of helicopter moms trying to get the last appointment for their snowflakes to see the Easter Bunny, karvaturret's M. Dankner finally got himself booked for a foul. Kärsämäki's H. Piiroinen went down after a savage challenge, but could continue playing after some medical attention. B. Kostuś's curling free kick almost found the goal for karvaturret, but the visitors' keeper somehow managed to get ahold of it. Given a free kick from a ways out after 40 minutes, karvaturret sent an arching ball into the penalty box. It was headed clear, but M. Dankner was waiting just outside the area and fired it home to make it 3 - 0. 3 - 0 was the halftime score. Looks like Nate Silver was right again - his prediction that karvaturret would have 84 percent possession in this half was spot on!

The karvaturret coach might have gone through a whole marker putting the playbook up on the board, but it seemed to have worked, with the team regaining a solid organization for the second half. S. Bodner had put in a good 70 minutes and left the field with a smile on his face due to his team's lead. G. Stavarache was the replacement. When H. Piiroinen was badly injured by a couple of rough challenges after 74 minutes, Kärsämäki fans were unhappy to discover that it was not possible to make a substitution. karvaturret added another goal to their lead as L. Badmann struck home for 4 - 0 after an attack from the left set him up unmarked in front of the keeper. Confident in their lead, karvaturret's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. Content with how the game was proceeding, the karvaturret coach let J. Jürgensen come on for B. Vecumnieks after 82 minutes. In an effort to secure the lead, karvaturret changed their tactics after 82 minutes. The karvaturret players could smell victory in the air. M. Dankner wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for R. Reschl after 82 minutes. It was obvious that karvaturret had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. karvaturret put themselves up 5 - 0 when R. Reschl broke through on the right, leaving the entire defensive delegation behind him. Given a free kick from an impossible angle, karvaturret went for a play that loyal fans may recognize from training. A square ball surprised the defense and let G. Stavarache slip through at goal. He hit it first time, making the score 6 - 0, 84 minutes into the game. After 86 minutes, J. Kakko put karvaturret ahead 7 - 0 when he rose to head in a hooked ball, the result of an effort from the right side. karvaturret were doing a good job holding on to the ball, with 84 percent of possession.

C. Stigell performed admirably for karvaturret. I can't remember V. Ylhäinen ever having a worse night than he just had. Most important Kärsämäki player was T. Matala-aho. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because A. Helveranta seemed to stumble all over the pitch. The match ends 7 - 0.
