Saucho 0 - 3 Brescia
(346008555)

26-07-2011 19.00
It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 34482 that came out to
Pidi Check Arena.
Mats Engin was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Abel Raizábal and
Andrin Frauendiener.
A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Saucho.
Lineup: Kuil - Steffansen, Wickes - Murrieta, Ermoshin, Kemenes, Franchin, Ruda - Sarid, Barthoulot, van Acht.
Brescia tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination.
The following players took the field: Scanu - Sinico, Dötlinger, Jonasson - Tolebayev, Scano, Casillas, Aruta - Plaar, Zanoli, Faldella.
Brescia's
M. Tolebayev could have put the guests one up after 12 minutes after chasing a through ball from the right, but
J. Kuil was as fast as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose.
G. Zanoli had a good try after 17 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide.
0 - 1 was the score with 18 minutes played, after
B. Scano cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Brescia.
Some lightning fast two foot dribbles by
E. Sarid left
V. Sinico way behind after 26 minutes, but the shot was just wide.
Brescia's
G. Plaar made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 31 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line.
Brescia came close to extending their lead as
C. Casillas delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 34 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting.
The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 1.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Brescia, with 58 percent of the ball.
G. Zanoli increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 2.
The coach of Brescia was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 65 minutes,
E. Ramini came on for
G. Plaar.
With 74 minutes played,
G. Zanoli nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar.
Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile
E. Sarid.
R. Franchin challenged the visitors' central defence eagerly, producing a good chance 81 minutes into the game as he went for a through ball. But, as so many times before, the guests' defensive efforts got the best of it.
Saucho's
E. Sarid got himself booked for a foul.
87 minutes into the game,
V. Sinico had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
M. Grenga.
As the captain was no longer on the pitch,
E. Ramini took over the role of being the Brescia captain.
The referee signalled a penalty 88 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box.
H. Jonasson knocked it home to make the score 0 - 3.
The players of Brescia now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
Brescia had most of the ball, with 57 percent of possession.
Saucho's best player was
B. Kemenes.
On the other hand,
R. Franchin's play was disheartening.
Brescia's top performer was clearly
B. Scano.
E. Ramini was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 0 - 3.
