previous 5/8 next 7/8  CHESSY 1 - 3 Mullenstone (346677312)

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 30500 at F.C. CHESSY Arena today. Ebo Bekenkamp was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Javier Zaballos and Juan Carrasco. A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for CHESSY. They fielded: Siedlik - Lako, Olkoniemi - Mileu, Goldsztein, Dingreville, Solano, Pigrau - Keijsers, Hasan, Pitzalis.

Mullenstone started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Senis - Vallo, Giannelli, Echeverría - Gismondi, Schiffer, Kaleel, Cabras, Bernardelli - van Beurden, Costa.

CHESSY took the lead, 1 - 0, after a penalty 15 minutes into the match. T. Hasan scored from the penalty spot. The visitors refused to give in and, after 21 minutes, J. Vallo evened things up as he finished off a perfect pass from the right. 1 - 1 It was 1 - 1 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to Mullenstone, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.

48 minutes into the game, Mullenstone wanted to bring some new energy to their game. A. Costa gave O. Okrój a quick hug as he left the field. As the 48 minute mark approached, the Mullenstone coach decided it was time for a substitution. I. van Beurden reluctantly made way for T. Soini on the pitch. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 50 minutes allowed M. Echeverría to score for Mullenstone. The scoreboard now read 1 - 2. The bench was restless, and with 52 minutes passed CHESSY's coach gave I. Funes the opportunity the player had been hoping for. S. Mileu reluctantly left the field. After 52 minutes, CHESSY switched P. Pigrau with M. Maccarone, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. The home crowd cheered when, after 52 minutes, J. Vallo's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. E. Dingreville made a superb strike after 70 minutes with a shot straight in front of the goal after a long ball through the middle, but one of the visitors' defenders got a foot in at the last second and warded it off for a corner. Mullenstone increased their lead after 80 minutes when J. Vallo broke through on the right, upping the score to 1 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay. The home side worked their way through the middle and almost got one back when I. Funes tried to sneak the ball past the keeper. R. Senis was too alert for that! Mullenstone claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

Most important CHESSY player was M. Maccarone. O. Lako was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Mullenstone player was without a doubt O. Okrój. A. Bernardelli turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 3.
