(347297890)

06-09-2011 19.00
Clear skies welcomed the 42100 spectators who had made their way to
Mirabello.
Ivan Lomov was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Stan Neagu and
Albert Riekmann.
Superace had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
Lineup: Priftuli - Pinchetti, Zangrossi, Parri, Starcovski - Ruusuvaara, Civolani, Camboni, Lunardi - Fraulini, Lo Bascio.
Maindove tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Rosa - Ronzoni, Mbaied, Rión - Zambon, Reverter, Bianciardi, Rendo, Cargiolli - Folli, Himmelbauer.
Superace clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could.
After 1 minutes, the Maindove coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
J. Rosa off the field.
F. Casciaro took his place.
After 18 minutes, Maindove put themselves up 0 - 1, as
D. Rión finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot.
D. Rión increased Maindove's lead to 0 - 2 with a superb free kick strike that flew in just under the far top corner.
Superace's
H. Ruusuvaara had a good first touch on the flank, but was crowded and, after a change of plan, sent the ball to
F. Lunardi who somehow managed to curl the ball wide.
It was 0 - 2 at the break.
Possession in this half belonged to Maindove, who controlled the ball 63 percent of the time.
The Superace players listened closely to their manager, as he gave new tactical instructions for the team.
With 59 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
A. Mbaied of Maindove to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 3.
After this, you could see that the players of Maindove were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
The Superace coach was desperate to reverse his team's fortunes in the game, and ordered his team to change strategy.
The Maindove players could smell victory in the air.
D. Himmelbauer wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
R. Faulkes after 65 minutes.
The Maindove coach was visibly pleased with the score so far, but still ordered a few tactical changes 70 minutes into the game.
The bench was restless, and with 78 minutes passed Superace's coach gave
T. Totori the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
G. Fraulini reluctantly left the field.
After 80 minutes,
R. Lo Bascio sent the corner kick right to
V. Zangrossi who headed it sharply past the keeper. 1 - 3!
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Superace's
R. Camboni was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 82 minutes.
M. Ferretto was given a chance to change things around.
Maindove claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 65 percent.
R. Lo Bascio performed admirably for Superace.
However,
F. Pinchetti made a disastrous appearance.
Maindove's best player was
X. Reverter.
On the other hand,
R. Faulkes's play was disheartening.
The match ends 1 - 3.
