previous 8/10 next 10/10  Ophiteam 2 - 1 La Samp (348537118)

1290 punters turned up at L'Ophirum, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came. Eduard Františák was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jean-Pierre Dif and Marco Charfuelan. Ophiteam had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Xavier - Prost, Vagner, Royer - Hmam, Lopes, Housseau, Bonnevie, Touzard - Perrette, Gonin.

La Samp tactics involved an interesting 5-4-1 combination. The following players took the field: Sabogal - Durak, Alves, Gauthier, Desmaison, Zavarský - Oliviero, Beauce, Vlijm, Evola - Bae.

Ophiteam showed off their creative tactics. After 14 minutes, La Samp put themselves up 0 - 1, as J. Beauce finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. Ophiteam had a magnificent opportunity after 17 minutes as Q. Lopes hit the ball hard from the edge of the penalty box. However, the shot went wide. With 26 minutes having been played, Ophiteam scored to make it 1 - 1. A dribble down the left wing, followed by a shot which took a wicked bounce off a defender resulted in the keeper having no chance. Everyone thought it'd been an own goal, but L. Hmam was marked down as the scorer. 1 - 1 was the halftime score. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Ophiteam, with 56 percent of the ball.

Making his way up the middle 52 minutes into the match, Q. Lopes almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert A. Sabogal blocked it to keep the score level. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave I. Bae from La Samp a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 65 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Ophiteam took the lead 68 minutes into the game by 2 - 1, as A. Housseau elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. Ophiteam's Q. Lopes was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 69 minutes. La Samp's H. Gauthier left the field after 70 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was P. Leuchi. Ophiteam enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 58 percent of possession.

Most important Ophiteam player was V. Bonnevie. G. Touzard on the other hand, had a terrible day. La Samp's top performer was clearly T. Vlijm. On the other hand, F. Oliviero's play was disheartening. The match ends 2 - 1.
