Hlohovec 0 - 7 Nets (349003112)

The crowd of 12000 turning up at FC Slovan Hlohovec Arena today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Victor Pennac was the appointed referee. Hlohovec decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. Lineup: Antal - Vasiliak, Feranec, Bakun, Meixner - Sipický, Veselý, Kvetan, Mindek - Daloš, Igaly.

Nets started off with a 2-5-3 lineup. They fielded: Slimák - Myjavec, Nevidzan - Turbač, Kocúr, Lysý, Vykydal, Ryšavý - Ďurčány, Gonščák, Udička.

The visiting V. Turbač was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 2 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. M. Myjavec of Nets received a yellow card after 19 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. With 23 minutes played, Nets's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to M. Lysý he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 0 - 2. When M. Myjavec made yet another studs-first tackle after 25 minutes, the referee was obliged to book the Nets player for the second time, sending him off the pitch. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Nets coach let B. Martincsek replace J. Gonščák after 30 minutes. After 32 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave M. Lysý a chance to increase the lead for Nets, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 3. The players of Nets now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. Some fine movement on the left led to a Nets goal after 33 minutes, making it 0 - 4. R. Udička was noted down as the scorer. Nets's S. Ďurčány made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 40 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. 0 - 4 was the score after the first half. Nets claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 83 percent.

The Nets players could smell victory in the air. Ľ. Nevidzan wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for J. Zdražil after 46 minutes. The home crowd cheered when, after 50 minutes, M. Ryšavý's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day. E. Krčmár was called on to replace Hlohovec's J. Feranec after 51 minutes following a nasty collision. E. Antal got a fingertip on M. Kocúr's shot from the left 60 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. After 64 minutes, Nets sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached S. Ďurčány, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 0 - 5. M. Kocúr didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain. M. Lysý left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 70 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. D. Ferda was the replacement. A drive down the left side allowed D. Ferda to get in close and score another goal for Nets after 73 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 6. The referee showed Nets's D. Ferda the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. A. Sipický of Hlohovec had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game. J. Osaďan came in to finish the match. A penalty was awarded after 77 minutes, and M. Kocúr made the most of his chance to put Nets up by another goal. 0 - 7 for the visitors. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Nets, with 87 percent of the ball.

The most dominating Hlohovec player was without a doubt B. Meixner. E. Antal on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Nets player was R. Udička. V. Turbač turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 7.
