Balttels 2 - 2 FLANNIGANS (350681738)

The 50000 spectators at Balttels Arena were in for an afternoon of sunshine. Baltasar Cerda was the appointed referee. Balttels started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. The following players took the field: Răducanu - Mitrev, Wille-Wagner, Vojvoda - Voets, Oswald, Vache, Molarinho - Campelo, Querelle, Eschmarke.

FLANNIGANS tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. They fielded: Klucis - Zuur, Elsaesser, Bozgunbaev - Viken, Arca, De Rosa, Fachada - Tikhanov, Urbansson, Beitien.

It was an obvious ambition of Balttels to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. F. Zuur of FLANNIGANS seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 0 - 1 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by P. Arca. A penalty was awarded after 14 minutes, and P. Arca made the most of his chance to put FLANNIGANS up by another goal. 0 - 2 for the visitors. After this, you could see that the players of FLANNIGANS were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. 30 minutes into the match, Balttels's A. Querelle popped up from nowhere, cheekily stole the ball off an opposition player and scored. 1 - 2. 32 minutes into the game, FLANNIGANS worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. Halftime score was 1 - 2. FLANNIGANS enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.

M. Urbansson's speed was almost enough to give FLANNIGANS a goal after 63 minutes, but his nice pass to L. Tikhanov was not taken care of properly. Players in Balttels heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead. No matter how hard he tried, M. Vojvoda just couldn't get his shot past the visitors' right side defence after 68 minutes. Balttels's A. Querelle made a successful breakthrough on the left after 74 minutes and should have levelled the score, but instead he clipped it over the bar. A. Querelle charged down the left and had a wonderful opportunity to score the equaliser for Balttels, but the shot went well wide of the goal. With 79 minutes having been played, Balttels scored to make it 2 - 2. A dribble down the left wing, followed by a shot which took a wicked bounce off a defender resulted in the keeper having no chance. Everyone thought it'd been an own goal, but A. Querelle was marked down as the scorer. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Balttels, with 51 percent of the ball.

The most dominating Balttels player was without a doubt T. Eschmarke. G. Răducanu was a disappointment, however. T. Beitien performed admirably for FLANNIGANS. A. Fachada turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 2 - 2.
