Clear skies welcomed the 12098 spectators who had made their way to
pirakis C.F Arena.
Diego Zedillo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Piotr Modrzejewski and
Szymon Jaroszyk.
pirakis tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
They fielded: Tornero - Ortueta, Mineiro, Shaw, Lauria - Fisteus, Dufour, Rikeit, Lafuente Manso de Zúñiga - Rolandsson, Irazabalbeaskoa.
Cazorla started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
Starters: Freixa - Arbos Marin, Plaiz, Selva, Lacalle - Mendoza, Peraire, Frometa, Angustia - Orellana, Ferragut.
The strategy for pirakis was to use their ability to press.
R. Lauria sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from
M. Rikeit after 7 minutes of play, making the score 1 - 0.
After 11 minutes,
J. Irazabalbeaskoa put pirakis ahead 2 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing.
After this, you could see that the players of pirakis were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
Cheers filled the stadium as
M. Rikeit broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 0 to pirakis.
pirakis put in a good effort on the right, but
F. Mineiro saw his volley fly wide of the mark 33 minutes into the game.
pirakis's
F. Lafuente Manso de Zúñiga was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box -
J. Irazabalbeaskoa managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 4 - 0 after 34 minutes.
pirakis managed to extend their lead to 5 - 0 when
R. Lauria cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
pirakis increased the lead as
O. Fisteus struck to make the score 6 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper.
With 40 minutes played,
J. Lacalle of Cazorla fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
6 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Possession in this half belonged to pirakis, who controlled the ball 85 percent of the time.
After 56 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
J. Rolandsson gave the pirakis supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 7 - 0.
pirakis's
A. Ortueta saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 57 minutes.
pirakis put themselves up 8 - 0 when
J. Irazabalbeaskoa broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
That made three goals for
J. Irazabalbeaskoa and he was marked down for the hat trick.
J. Irazabalbeaskoa could have increased the lead after 71 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park.
F. Mineiro received some harsh words from his coach after he acted foolishly 83 minutes into the match, probably out of lack of experience, and almost let an opponent score.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in pirakis's
M. Rikeit increasing the lead to 9 - 0.
pirakis claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 89 percent.
Most important pirakis player was
M. Rikeit.
However,
R. Lauria made a disastrous appearance.
The most dominating Cazorla player was without a doubt
S. Orellana.
On the other hand,
V. Freixa's play was disheartening.
The match ends 9 - 0.
