Cabrera, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. Deportivo's F. Cabrera increased the lead to 7 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 77 minutes. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Deportivo's A. Arbeitman increasing the lead to 8 - 0. Deportivo put in a good effort on the right, but J. Salcedo saw his volley fly wide of the mark 86 minutes into the game. After 87 minutes Deportivo's A. Innaty limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. Deportivo increased the lead as A. Salas struck to make the score 9 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. Deportivo had most of the ball, with 68 percent of possession.

The most dominating Deportivo player was without a doubt F. Sarache. A. Salas turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Athletico player was J. Salinas. However, H. Márquez made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 9 - 0.
