Varonis clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. hobos's C. Trippetta gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 5 minutes with a superb strike from the right. D. Duca was, after 33 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper P. Llorach made the save. hobos increased their lead after 35 minutes when I. Ketiya broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 2, much to the home crowd's dismay. The players of hobos now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. I. Ketiya came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over P. Llorach but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. Halftime score was 0 - 2. hobos enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 64 percent of possession.

The bench was restless, and with 46 minutes passed Varonis's coach gave V. Pylypiv the opportunity the player had been hoping for. A. Ziediņš reluctantly left the field. Varonis needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 46 minutes Ē. Vīksna made way for M. Hueber. Unhappy with the result so far in the game, the Varonis manager used a brief break in play after 46 minutes to give the players new directives. E. Šlesers was called on to replace Varonis's G. Pomatta after 67 minutes following a nasty collision. E. Šlesers was the new captain of Varonis - handed the armband by the departing player. 70 minutes into the game, Varonis seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a solid level of organisation. After 82 minutes Varonis's V. Pylypiv limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. The home crowd was not impressed when I. Ketiya came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 84 minutes. hobos were now up 0 - 3. After 87 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Varonis found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to inadequate. J. Ceiziņš of Varonis seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 1 - 3 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by S. Santos. Some things can only be learned through experience, and V. Štrehers should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting Varonis a goal with 88 minutes of the match played. I. Ketiya received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 89 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 4. The hobos fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. At that, I. Ketiya was noted down for a hat trick! 89 minutes in, Varonis appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only inadequate. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by hobos, with 68 percent of the ball.

Most important Varonis player was W. Wissembourg. P. Llorach was a disappointment, however. hobos's top performer was clearly I. Ketiya. On the other hand, V. Štrehers's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 4.
