previous 9/10 next 1/10  Teate89 1 - 2 Shaka (361836619)

It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 970 that came out to Guido Angelini. Harold Whitlam was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Francesco Castiglione and Valeriy Nepiypivo. Teate89 decided to use a 4-5-1 set up. Starters: Kirsimäe - Rieto, Barkó, Baroncini, Trudu - Loks, Conidi, Caterisi, Spicola, Gallitelli - Cusin.

Shaka started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Hradec - Meister, Nagar, Stepanov - Narduzzi, Pegrisch, Uğursal, Filipowski, Dirminti - Papamattheakis, Brinker.

Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Teate89. 0 - 1 was the score with 5 minutes played, after D. Stepanov cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Shaka. F. Dirminti of Shaka was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. 23 minutes into the game, Shaka seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a inadequate level of organisation. Good work by the Teate89 defensive line after 32 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found R. Gallitelli alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. With the scoreboard showing that 34 minutes had been played, Shaka nearly put themselves up another goal after M. Papamattheakis came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. A. Narduzzi of Shaka received a yellow card after 35 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. Teate89's M. Cusin got himself booked for a foul. Teate89's H. Loks showed his experience after 37 minutes, as he expertly set himself up to take advantage of a rebound off the crossbar, but his shot was tipped harmlessly out of the way. With 40 minutes played, M. Papamattheakis of Shaka fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. With a shot curled in from just outside the middle of the penalty area after 42 minutes played, M. Cusin of Teate89 made the score 1 - 1. It was 1 - 1 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Shaka, with 58 percent of the ball.

The coach gave his players an extra tactical briefing during the break, and after that Shaka had solid organisation. A. Narduzzi wasn't much help defensively. His energy-consuming forward runs proved quite costly in the oppressive heat. Some things can only be learned through experience, and B. Nagar should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting Teate89 a goal with 56 minutes of the match played. Shaka took the lead 62 minutes into the game, making the score 1 - 2 after some elegant movement down the middle. A. Narduzzi was the scorer. The visitors almost increased their lead after 69 minutes when a sweetly hit free kick looked like it was heading for the top corner. However the keeper managed to get a fingertip to it, sending it over the bar. Teate89 had to manage with a reduced squad after 75 minutes, as A. Baroncini got sent off for a needless foul away from the game's action. After the ball was lifted in from the left, M. Papamattheakis was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 76 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. 81 minutes into the game, Shaka seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to passable. Shaka enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 64 percent of possession.

Teate89's best player was L. Barkó. H. Loks on the other hand, had a terrible day. Shaka's top performer was clearly F. Dirminti. On the other hand, B. Nagar's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 2.
