Dark skies made the crowd of 60554 at FC Nemco Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Lucjan Mikolajewski was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Gilles Bajokijayi and Abercrombie Clanachan. Nemco tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination. It was obvious that Nemco were using their pressing skill as their primary tactic. Nemco had a good opportunity to take the lead as T. Popov came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of V. Slimák. In a rapid move 29 minutes into the match, J. Gonščák of Nets lost his man and passed the ball to the unmarked R. Udička who easily hit it home to make it 0 - 1. Luckily the ref didn't see him taunting the opposing fans in celebration - naughty boy! The Nets players could smell victory in the air. S. Ďurčány wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for B. Martincsek after 30 minutes. Nemco were close to equalising with a spectacular free kick by S. Baciu after 36 minutes, but V. Slimák made a great save, tipping it to a corner. The referee showed Nets's D. Ferda the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Nemco were forced into a substitution as S. Baciu couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing A. Kaulbarsch to come in off the bench. 0 - 1 was the halftime score. Nets claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.

48 minutes into the game, T. Popov came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. Nets's M. Kocúr was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 70 minutes. The visitors' M. Ryšavý took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 72 minutes into the match. 0 - 2 for Nets. Possession in this half belonged to Nets, who controlled the ball 58 percent of the time.

Most important Nemco player was L. Cartianu. However, A. Kaulbarsch made a disastrous appearance. Nets's best player was R. Udička. V. Turbač turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 2.
