(362215446)

06-12-2011 18.00
Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and
Seniorenheim am Bökelberg saw a crowd turnout of 48732.
Jérémy Faucheux was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Axel Sport and
Ryszard Sak.
Borsigplatz decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
They fielded: Kłosiński - Fischer-Rief, Nothhaft, Calboni - Brom, Schelcher, Ploetz, Hasselström, Chasseriaud - Coquillard, Corbucci.
Colonia started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
The following players took the field: Gozlan - Şaşmaz, Koenig-Strand, Boka - Piccinni, Profanter, Kürten, Mårtensson, Van Schowen - Gouranakos, Oeschey.
Borsigplatz's
L. Brom was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box -
A. Coquillard managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 1 - 0 after 11 minutes.
H. Mårtensson tied the game at 1 - 1 after 14 minutes, when he converted an incredible pass from the right.
Borsigplatz took the lead, 2 - 1, after a penalty 17 minutes into the match.
M. Fischer-Rief scored from the penalty spot.
The visiting team's
P. Oeschey was able to score the 2 - 2 equaliser with a header 26 minutes into the match, after some good work on the right.
A. Coquillard gave Borsigplatz the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 3 - 2
3 - 2 was the score after the first half.
Borsigplatz claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 51 percent.
N. Calboni unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide.
With 64 minutes played,
A. Coquillard could have brought this one home for Borsigplatz as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high.
F. Chasseriaud had a fantastic opportunity to put Borsigplatz up another goal 68 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar.
After 69 minutes, Borsigplatz's
F. Chasseriaud fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit!
Perseverence paid off for Colonia, as their
M. Kürten equalised making it 3 - 3 with a fabulous free kick.
Colonia had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 71 minutes in when
M. Şaşmaz came up alone against
J. Kłosiński who managed a block.
After 75 minutes, the Colonia coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving
A. Profanter off the field.
R. Johnsen took his place.
H. Mårtensson became the new Colonia captain.
As the 75 minute mark approached, the Colonia coach decided it was time for a substitution.
E. Piccinni reluctantly made way for
C. Planas on the pitch.
Possession in this half belonged to Colonia, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.
After the regular 90 minutes, the agony of extra time followed.
3 - 4 was the score with 94 minutes played, after
F. Van Schowen cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Colonia.
With that Colonia had won the game in extra time.
Borsigplatz's top performer was clearly
S. Corbucci.
F. Chasseriaud was a disappointment, however.
The most dominating Colonia player was without a doubt
E. Gouranakos.
On the other hand,
H. Koenig-Strand's play was disheartening.
The match ends 3 - 4.
