Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Fine Cut saw a crowd turnout of 1950. Anders Ingesson was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Benny Grønlund and Jonas van der Hulst. Electro decided to use a 2-5-2 set up. The following players took the field: Motorga - Ilieş, Negoiţă - Popescu, Anghel, Marincaş, Mărăcineanu, Covaci - Bozga, Tămaş.

A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Celtic. Lineup: Rolfsson - Ohlesch, van der Hoff, Kámán, Rosendahl - Botonjić, Hauser-Larcher, Benítez, Baklík, Justich - Fuxa.

The wings were the focus of most of Celtic's attacks today. A. Justich came close to putting the visiting team one up 13 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but R. Motorga managed to tip the ball to a corner. The Celtic free kick 23 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of A. Justich, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 0 - 1! A. Justich's lightning pace was too much for S. Ilieş who could only look on as the Celtic player blasted one home. 0 - 2. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Celtic lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. Attacking on the wings was the choice for Celtic, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. After the ball was lifted in from the left, M. Fuxa was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 26 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration. After 28 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Electro found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to inadequate. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2. Celtic enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 66 percent of possession.

A review of the gameplan helped Electro get back to a solid organisation when the referee blew his whistle again. The home side worked their way through the middle and almost got one back when A. Mărăcineanu tried to sneak the ball past the keeper. V. Rolfsson was too alert for that! Celtic had to make a substitution after 75 minutes. B. Benítez limped off the field and was replaced by J. Utterander. H. Hauser-Larcher showed his inexperience when he failed to anticipate the bounce of a high ball, allowing Electro's R. Marincaş to take advantage and place a shot into the bottom corner of the goal. 1 - 2. A drive down the left side allowed J. Ohlesch to get in close and score another goal for Celtic after 78 minutes, taking the score to 1 - 3. 79 minutes into the game, Electro seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a inadequate level of organisation. Players in Celtic heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead. 88 minutes into the match, Electro's S. Ilieş collected a ball sent down the right and put it in the back of the net, narrowing the score to 2 - 3. With 89 minutes played, Celtic put themselves up 2 - 4 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was J. Ohlesch. 89 minutes in, Electro's A. Popescu received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Celtic's J. Utterander had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 89 minutes having been played. M. Ferretto was the replacement. 89 minutes into the game, Electro seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to weak. Celtic had most of the ball, with 70 percent of possession.

The most dominating Electro player was without a doubt V. Tămaş. R. Motorga on the other hand, had a terrible day. Celtic's top performer was clearly O. Baklík. A. Justich turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 2 - 4.
