previous 7/9 next 9/9  Bröötarna 1 - 4 Tottarna (362774345)

Clear skies welcomed the 1241 spectators who had made their way to Bröötgrytan. Casper Oeschger was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Félicien Dehan and Santiago Farrés. Bröötarna decided to use a 5-2-3 set up. Lineup: Guerreiro - Carracedo, Hoya, Håkansson, Karlsson, Kristiansen - Huet, Åhlbeck - Abarca, Gallier, Donina.

Tottarna tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: Sörensson - Jacobsson, Banda, Svensson - Läfquist, Tjäder, Andersson, Gill, Nemcsák - Tungling, Brandquist.

For their match strategy, Bröötarna had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Tottarna tried to focus their attacks down the middle. Tottarna's K. Brandquist gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 16 minutes with a superb strike from the right. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave N. Läfquist from Tottarna a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 31 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Unfortunately for Bröötarna, A. Hoya was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. T. Tubi replaced him. After 33 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Bröötarna found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to weak. 37 minutes in, Bröötarna's A. Abarca received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Due to a severely mistimed tackle, J. Andersson of Tottarna spent some time on the grass writhing in agony before he could get up and continue the game. The visitors' D. Gill took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 39 minutes into the match. 0 - 2 for Tottarna. Tottarna increased their lead after 41 minutes when K. Brandquist broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay. Confident in their lead, Tottarna's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. D. Gill of Tottarna received a yellow card after 42 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. The home crowd was not impressed when B. Tungling came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 43 minutes. Tottarna were now up 0 - 4. 44 minutes into the game, Tottarna seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to passable. 0 - 4 was the score after the first half. Tottarna enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.

The Bröötarna players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a passable organisation when the game started again. During the break, Tottarna's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to solid organisation. The Tottarna players could smell victory in the air. M. Banda wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for C. Moura after 46 minutes. N. Nemcsák was the new captain of Tottarna - handed the armband by the departing player. Given a free kick in a difficult position after 47 minutes, Tottarna tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. Bröötarna were able to mount several counterattacks, such as the impressive one after 48 minutes, but M. Kristiansen lofted a free kick over the crossbar. Tottarna's K. Brandquist was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 57 minutes. 59 minutes in, Tottarna appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only passable. With 70 minutes played, T. Tubi was very close to reducing the score for Bröötarna with a low drive from the left, but a defender stuck his foot out just in the nick of time, blocking the shot to a corner. 75 minutes into the game, J. Karlsson had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came P. Czupała. After 76 minutes Tottarna's T. Jacobsson contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. W. Svensson came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over A. Guerreiro but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. After 78 minutes, Bröötarna's A. Abarca fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit! Bröötarna's fans were urging them forward as they tried to get back into the game, and their vocal support was rewarded 80 minutes into the match as A. Abarca ran onto a beautiful ball played through the visitors' defence and slotted it past the keeper to reduce the deficit. 1 - 4. Bröötarna had to make a substitution after 82 minutes. M. Kristiansen limped off the field and was replaced by C. Rapisarda. 86 minutes into the game, Tottarna seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a inadequate level of organisation. Possession of the ball saw an equal split between the teams during the forty-five minutes.

The most dominating Bröötarna player was without a doubt G. Gallier. T. Tubi on the other hand, had a terrible day. Most important Tottarna player was K. Brandquist. D. Gill turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 4.
