Leitner knocked one home from a counterattack down the right wing, making the score 1 - 0 after 25 minutes. Fatran put themselves up 2 - 0 when P. Zupko broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. It was 2 - 0 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Fatran, with 59 percent of the ball.

It was obvious that Fatran had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. With 49 minutes played, Fatran put themselves up 3 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to Ž. Prečuch, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. After 58 minutes, D. Leitner put Fatran ahead 4 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Fatran lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. With 76 minutes having been played, his teammates looked on in disbelief as B. Rizzo thoughtlessly misplayed the ball, setting up Fatran's D. Gubek for an easy goal. 5 - 0. Attacking on the wings was the choice for Fatran, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. Fatran claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 59 percent.

Fatran's best player was B. Rudický. P. Zupko on the other hand, had a terrible day. T. Amfilochias performed admirably for Eagles. C. Kiszely turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 5 - 0.
