(362921800)

28-12-2011 12.30
Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and
Kazad Arena saw a crowd turnout of 3049.
Medas Karčauskas was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Alex Zülle and
Qassem Saleh Abu-Ibrahim.
Chiquitin had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation.
The following players took the field: Desmet - Fjällstrand, Mäkitupa, Stonndal, Losenko - Serra, Sippari, Güraslan, Gavalopoulos, Van Woensel - Felip.
Stüzi decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Lineup: Triendl - Ernst, Rempl, Lunzer - Perner, Berg, Runcie, Stolz, Fink - Lyubenov, Bär.
M. Fink sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from
C. Runcie after 7 minutes of play, making the score 0 - 1.
Chiquitin's
J. Felip almost tied things up with 10 minutes played after breaking through on the right, but his shot deflected off the post.
20 minutes into the match Chiquitin's
M. Sippari head butted an opponent nastily, and so the referee sent him off immediately.
In a fantastic display of determination, Stüzi's
N. Stolz forced himself to his feet, after an opponent viciously knocked him down.
Some things can only be learned through experience, and
G. Berg should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting Chiquitin a goal with 23 minutes of the match played.
39 minutes in, Chiquitin's
T. Fjällstrand received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
Stüzi's
Y. Lyubenov went down after a savage challenge, but could continue playing after some medical attention.
A good free kick by
J. Van Woensel would have scored the equaliser for Chiquitin, had it not been for the dramatic save by the visitors' goalkeeper.
No matter how hard he tried,
T. Fjällstrand just couldn't get his shot past the visitors' right side defence after 42 minutes.
With the clock showing 43 minutes played,
J. Van Woensel equalised for Chiquitin after curling a free kick around the defensive wall to make the score 1 - 1.
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1.
Chiquitin had most of the ball, with 65 percent of possession.
Stüzi's
Y. Lyubenov was shown a yellow card after 56 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
The player down was
L. Serra. The Chiquitin bench looked worried for a while, but in the end he managed to get up.
Chiquitin took the lead 58 minutes into the game by 2 - 1, as
T. Fjällstrand elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar.
Chiquitin put themselves up 3 - 1 when
J. Felip broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
With 76 minutes played, Chiquitin's
J. Felip almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net.
With 83 minutes played,
G. Perner of Stüzi fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
Possession in this half belonged to Chiquitin, who controlled the ball 65 percent of the time.
Chiquitin's best player was
H. Mäkitupa.
M. Losenko turned in a dismal performance, however.
The most dominating Stüzi player was without a doubt
C. Runcie.
M. Ernst on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 3 - 1.
