01-02-2012 12.30
A scorching day at
Àgora, where 3216 spectators were in place for today's match.
Nathan Francke was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Lutz Wechselberger and
Kaj Vester Madsen.
A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Kybalion.
The following players took the field: Duszkiewicz - Anguiano, Branner - Muñoz, Cortés, Marom, Cortassa, Laurell - Goda, Lozinovski, Somalo.
Treterpack started off with a 5-3-2 lineup.
They fielded: Stindl - Finneiß, Wydra, Techentin, Gätcke, Hölderlin - Englisch, Hauchstein, Zucali - Grützmacher, Gribkov.
M. Laurell gave Kybalion the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 1 - 0
The home side's
V. Branner came close to extending the lead 26 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but
F. Stindl managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
R. Techentin from Treterpack a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 30 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
After 31 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
R. Lozinovski gave the Kybalion supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 2 - 0.
Confident in their lead, Kybalion's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
A late sliding challenge from
R. Techentin was deemed to be his second yellow card offence by the referee, resulting in him being sent off, and Treterpack left a man down.
The player down was
M. Laurell. The Kybalion bench looked worried for a while, but in the end he managed to get up.
After 38 minutes, Kybalion sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
R. Lozinovski, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 3 - 0.
With 39 minutes played,
R. Lozinovski of Kybalion fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
3 - 0 was the halftime score.
Kybalion enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 58 percent of possession.
K. Gribkov found it hard to catch his breath today in the stifling heat.
The Kybalion free kick 78 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of
M. Laurell, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 4 - 0!
After 80 minutes Treterpack's
L. Gätcke limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue.
The corner kick from
L. Zucali was powerfully met by the head of
L. Gätcke to make the score 4 - 1.
The Kybalion players could smell victory in the air.
M. Laurell wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
J. Blanxart after 89 minutes.
Possession in this half belonged to Kybalion, who controlled the ball 58 percent of the time.
Most important Kybalion player was
R. Lozinovski.
However,
J. Anguiano made a disastrous appearance.
Treterpack's top performer was clearly
L. Zucali.
A. Grützmacher on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 4 - 1.
