(363974569)

31-01-2012 18.30
2764 punters turned up at
Biengener Arena, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Ägidus Grosenick was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Mattia Epplin and
Jan Šenkýř.
A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for SVB.
Starters: Niemegeerts - Poniridis, Caxigas, Feix, Nachtmann - Wunderlich, Ebner, Salman, Ölçüm, Hundorfer - Zabeltitz.
NFC tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
The following players took the field: Ćulum - Haračić, Budimčić, Dolamić - Fočak, Becirčić, Romanović, Hanson, Ibraković - Ašćalić, Podrug.
For their match strategy, SVB had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible.
The wings were the focus of most of NFC's attacks today.
As the 15 minute mark approached, the SVB coach decided it was time for a substitution.
A. Ebner reluctantly made way for
F. Rottig on the pitch.
Making his way up the middle 18 minutes into the match,
F. Rottig almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert
Z. Ćulum blocked it to keep the score level.
NFC's
M. Ibraković was shown a yellow card after 26 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
NFC had several good opportunities to take the lead, especially 36 minutes in when
A. Ašćalić came up alone against
M. Niemegeerts who managed a block.
38 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for SVB was
R. Hundorfer.
Cheers filled the stadium as
M. Wunderlich broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to SVB.
2 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Possession in this half belonged to SVB, who controlled the ball 63 percent of the time.
N. Ölçüm left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 46 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
M. Frazer was the replacement.
The coach of SVB was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 46 minutes,
A. Schneider came on for
R. Hundorfer.
SVB's
H. Zabeltitz swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball.
The referee showed NFC's
D. Haračić the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
There was no way SVB's
E. Caxigas could continue to play after this, and no replacements were available!
The SVB captaincy was handed to
M. Niemegeerts.
SVB solidified their lead at the 81 minute mark, as
D. Nachtmann dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0.
D. Haračić remonstrated furiously with the referee after NFC had another decision go against them. The referee had no alternative but to show him another yellow card and send him from the pitch.
With 85 minutes played,
S. Feix could have brought this one home for SVB as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high.
SVB enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 66 percent of possession.
Most important SVB player was
H. Zabeltitz.
D. Nachtmann was a disappointment, however.
The most dominating NFC player was without a doubt
M. Ibraković.
M. Dolamić turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 3 - 0.
