It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 1897 that came out to
7up.
Jarno de Roock was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Per Eder and
Matías Sivisky.
C.F. decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
They fielded: Tamay - Gorostegui, Elizabelar, Mauri Argudo - Marina, Osica, Strano, Pelegrino, Bradshaw - van der Aa, Lanus García.
P.A.C. tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Starters: Zobel - Radid, Passchier, Voorsluijs - Silvius, Damink, Locke, van Egmond, Mol - Wouters, Hueting.
C.F. clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle.
P.A.C. used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings.
After 4 minutes, following yet another great corner,
F. Strano's flick on at the near post reached
C. Bradshaw, who was just wide with his snapshot - the ball went out for a goal kick.
After a fine move down the middle
C. Lanus García nearly gave the home side a goal after 7 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide.
After 12 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as P.A.C. found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
weak.
31 minutes in, C.F.'s
J. Gorostegui received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
Almost all the way down to the corner flag, C.F.'s
C. Bradshaw somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for
C. Lanus García, who struck for 1 - 0.
C.F. increased the lead as
J. Osica struck to make the score 2 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
S. van der Aa squirmed through their central defence after 38 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 0.
By now, the players in C.F. felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
After 39 minutes, C.F. were awarded a free kick. Rather than shooting straight at goal, the taker went for an indirect variant which seemed to take his team mates a bit by surprise.
J. Marina did attempt a finish, but from an awkward position, sending the ball into the away fans.
It was 3 - 0 at the break.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by C.F., with 77 percent of the ball.
The P.A.C. players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a
solid organisation when the game started again.
C. Lanus García increased the lead for C.F. to 4 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
52 minutes into the game, P.A.C. had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
inadequate.
A great save by keeper
C. Zobel after 68 minutes kept the visitors in the game after
F. Strano struck from the left with a real cannonball.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
F. Locke from P.A.C. a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 69 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
C.F.'s
J. Marina was shown a yellow card after 74 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
R. van Egmond of P.A.C. had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game.
W. Franssen came in to finish the match.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as C.F. scored another to make it 5 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
I. Mauri Argudo after 77 minutes.
86 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
J. Osica broke through, making the score 6 - 0 for C.F..
C.F.'s
C. Lanus García left the field after 87 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
L. Mahr.
As the captain was no longer on the pitch,
F. Strano took over the role of being the C.F. captain.
C.F. managed to extend their lead to 7 - 0 when
C. Bradshaw cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
C.F. had most of the ball, with 78 percent of possession.
Most important C.F. player was
F. Strano.
On the other hand,
J. Marina's play was disheartening.
The most dominating P.A.C. player was without a doubt
A. Radid.
However,
C. Zobel made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 7 - 0.
