Zanetti 6 - 0 Cercle
(364288178)

15-02-2012 12.30
2086 spectators arrived at
Araba Arena, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Lucas Barbedo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Luka Renvers and
Garry Bird.
Zanetti started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
Lineup: Gloanec - Zanobi, Buassa, Montià - Castillo, Kaminsky, Gerstner, Caseiro, Pisano - Ribeiro Figueiredo, Pinell.
Cercle tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination.
The following players took the field: Wołowski - Trojanowski, Nooren, Grelet - Radić, Dieumegard, Reder, Arsu - Mabille, Muësen, Ueberschär.
Zanetti decided to play creatively.
Cercle were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks.
L. Pisano caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 5 minutes. This gave Zanetti the 1 - 0 lead.
M. Buassa unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide.
Coming from the right,
A. Zanobi almost managed to score another goal for Zanetti, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper.
Zanetti's
A. Castillo got himself booked for a foul.
With 32 minutes played,
G. Ribeiro Figueiredo could have brought this one home for Zanetti as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high.
34 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
G. Ribeiro Figueiredo broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for Zanetti.
The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 0.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Zanetti, with 72 percent of the ball.
G. Ribeiro Figueiredo should probably have put his team up another goal after 47 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
N. Wołowski kept the visitors in the game.
Cheers filled the stadium as
G. Ribeiro Figueiredo broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 3 - 0 to Zanetti.
After 50 minutes, Zanetti sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
O. Montià, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 4 - 0.
Things were deteriorating for the away team as Zanetti scored another to make it 5 - 0 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for
A. Gerstner after 54 minutes.
After this, you could see that the players of Zanetti were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
A. Kaminsky increased the lead for Zanetti to 6 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
G. Ribeiro Figueiredo from Zanetti a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 70 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Zanetti had most of the ball, with 68 percent of possession.
Zanetti's top performer was clearly
C. Pinell.
On the other hand,
L. Pisano's play was disheartening.
Cercle's best player was
S. Muësen.
N. Wołowski on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 6 - 0.
