Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 20500 to Jollandia. Carlo Douwes was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Martin Lehemets and Giuseppe Spina. The visitors' A. Murcia was alert after a cross coming in from the left, levelling the score at 1 - 1 after 34 minutes. Torretta's A. Mattos was shown a yellow card after 35 minutes for slicing down an opponent. A loud groan was heard from the fans of Jolla, as B. Kooy left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. S. Marra took his place on the field. Halftime score was 1 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Jolla, with 60 percent of the ball.

The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave G. Pogliaghi from Torretta a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 61 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Priding himself in being an active coach, the Torretta manager gave new instructions to his players after 65 minutes. 65 minutes into the match, the Torretta manager wanted to try a new tactic, and the players loyally obliged. After 72 minutes, a deliberate handball from Torretta's A. Mattos was judged to be his second bookable offence, and he was sent off. Carluccio to score after 82 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. 84 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but A. Murcia, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide. Possession in this half belonged to Jolla, who controlled the ball 63 percent of the time.

As neither team was able to break the deadlock before the end of regular play, the teams took to the field again for extra time. A. Murcia of Torretta seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 1 - 2 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by D. Aldini. Game over, Torretta win! The most dominating Jolla player was without a doubt J. Pipet. C. Klingler on the other hand, had a terrible day. G. Mascetti performed admirably for Torretta. On the other hand, G. Spicci's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 2.
